Trump Slams EU Over $5 Billion Fine on Google (reuters.com)

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday criticized the European Union and said the bloc was taking advantage of the United States, pointing to the record $5 billion fine European antitrust regulators imposed on Google. From a report: European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is scheduled to meet with Trump at the White House next Wednesday to discuss trade and other issues. "I told you so! The European Union just slapped a Five Billion Dollar fine on one of our great companies, Google. They truly have taken advantage of the U.S., but not for long!" Trump said in a post on Twitter .

Russia could overtake them in an afternoon if NATO doesn't step in. NATO stepping in requires the US to step in.
Keep attempting to rip off US companies and prepare to defend yourself. Frankly, I'm getting tired of listening to the EU bash the US and then depend on the US to keep them "free". Here's hoping next time the US doesn't interfere with European wars.

Except, of course, that they didn't "force certain services and applications". They bundled a set of services and applications. Search, play store and chrome. It's completely consistent with the andriod licensing to ditch the google search and google play store and install the Kindle store instead. In fact, Amazon has shipped hundreds of thousands of such things.

Because EU is a joke... Germany, France a few other countries are worth considering as having some kind of influence or power, the other 20 or so are pretty much failed states.

Yes, Google is subject to EU law if they want to do business there but the EU can't rule that Google's incorporation be dismantled if they don't like how Google runs their business. EU can't levy any criminal charges against Google. Only the US government can do that because Google/Alphabet are incorporated in the US.,

Especially when you consider the "boogeyman" that the Democrats now attack, was dismissed by the same Democrats as "irrelevant" in the 2012 election. And that all these supposed attacks/hacks/collusion happened with 100% knowledge - and effectively explicit blessing (via commands to "stand down" and not attempt to stop) - of the Obama Administration.

Democrats ridiculed Romney over his concerns about Russia. And President Obama told the cyber chief to stand down with regards to Russian interference in the 2016 election. And now suddenly it's all bad Russia and it's all President Trump's fault?
