Federal Prosecutors Are Investigating Huawei For Allegedly Stealing Trade Secrets, Says Report (thehill.com)
According to The Wall Street Journal, federal prosecutors have launched a criminal investigation to see if Huawei allegedly stole trade secrets from U.S. companies. The probe is reportedly built out of civil lawsuits against the telecommunications firm. The Hill reports: People familiar with the probe told the Journal that it is at an advanced stage and that an indictment could soon be coming. Huawei has long faced scrutiny from both lawmakers and national security officials, who have labeled the firm as a national security threat over its ties to the Chinese government. The company has denied that characterization, and China this week called for other countries to end âoethe groundless fabrications and unreasonable restrictionsâ on Huawei and other firms.

Twice in one day they get looked into ... must be rough for Huawei
I'll never trust you with my deep dark secrets ever again, man.
SJW: Someone who has run out of real oppression, and has to fake it.
So of course they steal. And they are connected to the evil communist regime of course.
Corporatism != Free Market
I fully expect the 50 Cent Party to be here any moment to "defend China".
So if you see a lot of ACs here defending Huawei, you will understand why -- the Chinese government pays people to sit around all day and "defend China" online.
So why are they out in such numbers?
China is quite upset that Huawei (a front company for China's CIA (Ministry of State Security, MSS)) is being outed as a front company. It's founder is ex-PLA, and the company steals Western secrets to order for the Chinese Communist Party.
Everything is cheap when you use slave labour and save on R&D by stealing all your IP.

He's some ultra-right wing dude who appears to be controlling both msmash and BeauHD (his email address is like 'jmorris@beauhd.com'. I assume he's some sort of 'influencer' who shills stories for little manilla envelopes. He seems to have the market sealed up pretty good as the same stories are spammed here and on the red site (soylentnews) over about a 4 hour window daily, both the BeauHD and the msmash ones, basically verbatim with just the names attached to the submissions different, but always the same two or three nicks.
Really the slashdot editors and the soylentnews editors should scrutinize that more closely and consider not carrying his stories any more. They are mostly hype or flamebait for clicks anyways.
That's a bit rich from a country that has massive industrial espionage operations against its own allies. The US isn't exactly in a position to judge others in this regard.
@bluelip: “Evidence that even the editors don't read Slashdot.”
:]
Yea, it's sad seeing a top tech forum reduced to generally spouting MICROS~1 slashvertisments
