registered CmdrTaco.net
and have moved most of my non-slashdot stuff there- as well as cleaning
up some design issues and making pages smaller and faster
and prettier. Update your links, the old stuff will go away in the
not so distant future.

I want to get LyX up and running, so I grab teTeX, but it gives me errors whenever I try to run TeX: /usr/local/teTeX/texmf/ls-R . .

This file exists and the manual isn't terribly helpful. running texhash doesn't help. I followed all the instructions in INSTALL.bin, running install.sh, and have plenty of free disk space.

What I want to know is this: What the hell do you record in a music-playing condom? What piece of music would be appropriate? "Stranger in the Night" ???
Better yet, is it a straight audio recorder? We could have all kinds of amusing sounds.

XForms, a non-free toolkit. Although free as in free beer, the source code is not available.
Surprised it's still used after all the flaming Troll Tech got over Qt, which was/is more 'free' than XForms.
Is it Motif, or some homebrew widget set? I was looking all over their site yesterday for some clue, figured I might get a quick answer here - ?

Lyx should definately be ported to gtk. The widget set it uses now is horribly ugly and opperates in a weird way.
A gnomed version would be great addition to the modern *NIX desktop. The power of LaTeX in a smoothly integrated, eyecandied enviorment.
It sure would be a cool project if anybody's looking for something to do with spare, or not so spare, time.
