One thing I love about Weird Al's songs is that he does his research. In the song from this "article", he mentions such things as Kazaa. In "All about the Pentiums", he throws out a lot of technical terms.
That'll be C:\WINNT\System32\Drivers\Etc\hosts in WinNT/Win2k. Replace WINNT with WINDOWS if you're using XP.
reiserfs has such a feature: pack the tails of files together in one block
you can set the userdir to something else, e.g. /home/homepages Then www.server.com/~user/bla.html == /home/homepages/user/bla.html works like a charm here, all users have mod 700 homedirs and 755 homepagedirs.
