    I think you meant to say - these are the reasons why US of A is no longer number one in anything but military spending. Really - check your facts - because that is all USA ranks tops in now. Truth is even that's a lie - the Chinese spend billions of dollars less per year, but since they actually spend that money buying guns and bullets whereas our 400 billion dollar military budget is actually 399 billion in subsidies for friends of the Defence Department.

    If the FBI actually has to look for them - and no one knows where they are - then it doesn't sound like they are truly very dangerous criminals. Mostly they don't have to look for people with a habit of committing crimes, as they tend to have a habit of getting arrested. "Dangerous criminal" often just means dope dealer. While I'm sure there are dangerous dope dealers, we hardly need billboards lighting up local pot heads. "Paedophile" might really be that - or it might be Genarlow Wilson's face on that board. But hey we need to punish those evil teenagers who sleep with other teenagers! As for "terrorist" - don't get me started. Can we expect billboards of lunatic homeless who fancy themselves Al Qaeda operatives?

    I though the cost difference was related to quality testing. Mac tests it's hardware configurations - and parts quality - Mac doesn't generally use cheap commodity PC parts - ie the ram is Corsair - not Valuetek, etc, etc.

    And also common marijuana has been shown to been an effective preventative treatment - something about the cannaboids binding and releasing from the brains cannaboid receptors - kind of like cleaning your pipes.

    When was the last time you applied for a job - most jobs now "require" internet access - convenience store employees are required to have net access... Are you aware that most children literally require internet access for school purposes now - not having good access can impact a students grades in a very real way? Sorry - but net access is no longer "a luxury"

    Yes, if I "really" need 3 parties on the line, then I do a 3 way call. I let my guests use my cell phone I do have satellite TV, and I'm aware they desire their customers to connect receivers to an active phone line for the purposes of "dialing home". Mine is simply not connected. Dish Network has never complained - quite frankly if they did complain I would cancel their service - not get a land line...

    Interesting. It seems many posters projected problems of our government onto the Indian effort. Why does everyone assume it "can't be done"? I applaud their effort, their willingness to try... Americans seem sorely lacking in the willingness to try department anymore. We immediately argue why it could never, or should never, be accomplished. We immediately argue that a government should never actually provide to it's citizenry.

    Our government has already paid the telco's here with our tax dollars, only we got nothing for it...

    We already have a substance which helps prevent Alzheimers, marijuana... As you've stated Alzheimers is a plaque build-up on the brain. The binding and releasing of cannaboid to cannaboid brain receptors literally keeps the pipes clean....

    I'll try to explain my thinking. Ideally civil rights (equality) should be the natural state among men. Neutral should be the natural state of the network. In reality, massive amounts of legislation (which requires politicians) was required to achieve anything that even vaguely resembles civil rights, and in reality legislation (which requires politicians) will be required to maintain neutrality of the net. You can't take cuteness from puppies, so legislation isn't required to protect that...

    Say it this way:

    Look.. I don't support Civil rights. Or specifically, I don't support a civil rights law because I don't think it's required. It'll just get politicians involved in something they really don't understand, and getting politicians involved is almost always a bad idea.

    I realize the two are not even remotely related, I just wanted to point out politicians are required when it comes to making laws ensuring our freedom....

    That's the difference, you dont' mind paying, and you are windows user. I do mind paying, and thus am willing to learn "how" to use linux apps. Neither way is correct, or incorrect, simply different... Personally I have no issue with my fonts under linux, they look just fine. But then, I'm partial to monospace anyway...

    TPM won't work either. Hardware hacking is old news. Consider the battle between satellite TV hackers and the dish companies. When access cards were compromised, the company responded by building access cards into the receiver (some with so called tamper-resistance), and of course those have been hacked also...

    Naturally there numbers are not based in reality. They assume x number pirated copies times retail sale value = amount lost. There's a completely different threshold however, between what people will download/copy for free, and what people are willing to buy.
