Amd is at it's lowest for like 6 months, it had reached a $42 maximum and plunged to $14.40 three days ago. Now is floating around $15... The only way is up ? I guess so.

You don't have to be a carpenter to know that it's a lot harder to fix a mistake once the cut has been made. Hence true craftsman know all to well that proper due dilgence up front can save a lot of heartache down the road.
And so it is with reacting - or over reacting - to every story, rumor, or misrepresentation about the direction of GPL3 - the work in process update to the GNU General Public License version 2 that governs the use and distribution of some open source software. As GPLv3 is a work in process, we don't speculate on its outcome. Others do, however, including a Reuters report yesterday that intimated dire consequences for Novell - citing Eben Moglen, the Free Softwware Foundation's general counsel as the source of this conclusion.
Within hours, Mr. Moglen himself, in an email interview with Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols of Linux-Watch, clarified his position and the Reuter's story stating, "The actual quote he prints is entirely accurate, but his lede destroys the context and is making unnecessary waves." In fact Mr. Vaughan-Nichols has a number of balanced views and articles on this topic that provide a fuller context for many of us to "measure twice and cut once" on this issue. On his site you'll also find an interesting guest post by Bill Weinberg, a long time evangalist on open source licensing to business users, that's worth a read.
On this issue as with so many others, it's a good idea to take out your tape measure and use a pencil.

And the time it takes to get something published is ridiculous !
Take the following example from http://hri.iit.tsukuba.ac.jp/tchri
Important Dates:
June 1, 2006: Call for Papers
September 30, 2006: Deadline for Paper Submission
February 28, 2007: Completion of First Review
June 30, 2007: Completion of Final Review
December 2007 (tentative): Publication
So i get to wait 5 months until i known the article gets reviewed . If it's ok it gets published in 1.5 years after submission ?!?!?!
If it doesn't get published i still lost 5 months with my work idleing, because i compromised to just publish to that journal !
In http://boost.org/ they peer review c++ libraries in 1 month tops !
I get to face the reviewers and reply their quesions, the reviewers are not anonymous also !
The cartels would never exist if the internet would be invented before CDs or Tapes, or physical medium.
They are a virus that refuses to die, altough their death is inevitable.
Their model of content distribution only serves to constrain the free sharing of information.
Make the world a favor and leave Mrs. you can keep your savings from the OLD days, we won't go after you...
Wikimovies, free content, free thought, free ideas, GET OUT OF THE CAVE.
Both Vista and MacOS suck for 1 reason.
They are not free, so as long as people use it they are just consumers.
And if they claim they develop on those platforms they are just employees of the companies that own the OS.
I choose fltk because:
-> is LGPL
-> comes with support for opengl
-> its easy to get things done
-> multiplatform
-> has this cozy friendly feeling to it
I like mandriva because:
- lots of packages updated in cooker which has lots of mirrors
- it is not biased towards any desktop environment
- has zshell well configured that boost productivity in shell, as opposite to ubuntu that seems more of a MS invention to keep people out of their keyboards that are a great power of linux
- penguin liberation front
- in 2006 release the kernel was compiled by the intel compiler giving the fastest boot time i ever seen on a distro
- makes great use of dkms to install kernel modules on boot and the kernel comes with a great configuration, i never needed to compile a kernel since i moved from slackware
The only true competition (have enough packages available) are :
- suse : they suck in latest software, where are the distros ?!?!?
- gentoo : productivity sucks because everything needs to be compiled, no interfaces, PAINFULL !!!! 10 years ago this would be ok, not now.
- ?ubuntu : sudo ? sudomania is not for me... typing the password 100 for 100 commands... is that safe ? just keep asking the sysadmin some commands while you take notes of the password.
Despite users not participating much in slashdot it can be seen that the distro is very active from the package contributions and if someday i have to switch to other linux i will be in big trouble because all of them SUCK.
