    Indeed, nothing new, This is about Tzar Peter the Great (1672-1725): To add insult to injury, Peter personally cut off the beards of his noblemen. All men except the peasants and priests had to pay Peter's yearly beard tax and wear a medal proclaiming, "Beards are a ridiculous ornament." If we re-introduce the beard-tax we can pay the development of better face-recognition systems.

    another microsoft promise (the mail on mobile phone stuff) that already exist for a long time, upto more-than-many-gigbytes-you-never-use. you just need a smart phone with an imap client, and money for the data (why is it still so expensive?), even calendar stuff is already there e.g. xoffice.

    I think you are talking about carbon double layer capacitors, these have a high series resistance, because carbon has a high resistance. ceramic capacitors are different, don't have high series resistance.

    Is it really democracy if the only real choice is between "democrats" or "republicans", which do not differ that much if you look at the differences in parties in other countries. Most countries have at least 10 choices. I think America is close to a one-party-system, so don't care about some more votes for one or the other, it's just like "The Party" in russia, not that much difference.
