Probably got confused by the guy up the page who was proud to carry $5K liability. 10K is really ridiculously low. Here liability doesn't end with insurance either though under-insured motorist protection is compulsory so if you hit me and your insurance doesn't cover it, mine will kick in and my insurance will sue you for the money. (courts are more reasonable here so usually don't have to worry about excess punitive damages) Here the government doesn't want to have to cover shortfalls so insists on higher liability. Not sure what it is now, perhaps $500K. My liability is $2 million which would be split if more then one person made a claim. It also covers me if your insurance comes up short. I'd have higher if it was as cheap as it used to be. Generally I'm a good driver but like everyone I have bad days, tired, stressed out or just plain old spaced so the possibility of injuring someone is real.
How the hell can $30,000 be considered adequate insurance? Would that even cover the ambulance ride to emergency down there? I feel bad only carrying $2 million in the land of govt. healthcare as if I ever put someone in a wheelchair, I'd like to cover their expenses.

In 99+% of cases they can refuse to continue treating a patient who is refusing to follow treatment and usually refuse to treat a patient for most any reason (can't outright refuse to treat someone based on race and such). Both here and down there, some Doctors are going to be on salary and have less choice. Just because most Doctors get paid per patient doesn't mean a Doctor in the military for example, gets paid per patient or has has as many choices. I'd guess down there even more Doctors are on salary and have less choice. It's like any other trade, if you work for yourself, you have more choice then if you have a boss telling you what to do.
I don"t understand your point. This is a universal healthcare system, Canada, where each Province is in charge of their healthcare following minimum guidelines put out by the feds who also redistribute money from the have Provinces to the have nots. Any system has administrators who might have a policy of treating everyone which people on salary have to follow if they want to keep their job. Generally the administrators here are Doctors themselves but in eg a prison, it might be the Warden ordering the Doctor employed by the prison to treat all inmates.

Octopus has a much better eye then humans. Our spines are horrible and our knees are also a crappy design. At that there is just so much of our physiology that looks like it just happened rather then being designed that as a theory "intelligent design" is on about the same level as the flat Earth. Worth a couple of minutes of consideration and that's about it.

And no, they weren't going to try to be clean to see if it cut down on deaths. It is certainly useful, therefore, for legal authorities to find out who the people in the latter group are, so that they can be subject to increased scrutiny (in a non-public way).

For energy density there are various wild roots as well as nuts that pack a lot of energy and many wild greens are much higher in vitamins and minerals then cultivated greens. Cultivated plants such as head lettuce are mostly water with generations of selective breeding for looks rather then nutrition. Even tomatoes have suffered from the selective breeding to make them good lookers and shippers rather then tasty and nutritious. Vitamin D and creatine are synthesized in our bodies. As for meat, most people eat more then they need and it would be more sustainable to switch away from cows and sheep to pigs and chickens or even better, insects.

While you're correct about being authoritarian, you're making a mistake in thinking that authoritarianism is different then conservative vs liberal. They're actually different axises on the political chart. You can have authoritarian conservatives, libertarian conservatives, authoritarian liberals (the American meaning of liberal) and libertarian liberals. Most successful politicians have been fairly authoritarian and to the right of the spectrum.
