Ummm, don't you have the whole concept backwards? Surely it's up to IDists to explain why their theory better explains natural diversity than Evolution. You don't just switch over to a entirely new explanation just because the current theory doesn't seem to cover all the bases. Especially when the new theory doesn't seem to cover any.

As to "everyone agrees..." if you're saying that science doesn't explain the natural universe, then no, I'm guessing most don't agree with you. If you're saying science doesn't explain faith, then I'm sure you are right.

Science doesn't have limits - science is a process. Just because we don't understand something now, does not mean it is outside the perview of science to explain it.

Reviewing photos, its seems only sts1 and sts2 had the white external tank. I would assume sts1 was pretty well documented so I'm guessing they would have compared pre/post paint debris shedding stats over the past couple of years.

Actually, there is a scenario they have experimented with. Some people are born with severe cataracts. Surgery can remove those cataracts now, but 20 years ago when they started doing this, they found that if they did not remove the cataracts within a certain amount of time, the brain did not develop sufficiently for eye-sight to be restored. A friend of mine has this problem (she is legally blind). Her daughter was born with the same defect but this time they were able to operate quickly after birth, remove the damaged lenses and replace them with special contacts. When the child is 6 or 7 they will replace the contacts with new lens implants.

Nah, NeXT Cube introduction wasn't as good. First, they started about 45 minutes late at SF Symphony hall and kept everyone waiting in the hall, which seemed to have air conditioning problems. Then the OS or apps crashed a couple of times during the demos. Finally, because they'd started so late, they had to finish the whole presentation very early - Jobs basically walked on stage and cut off one of the academic presenters in mid-sentence - as the Symphony had to use the auditorium to practice for a performance that evening. That was definitely not the smooth announcement that was expected. (Couple that with the surprise higher price and many of us came away disappointed.) Still, the machine was cool to see and the RW Optical drive seemed amazing at the time.

I think it's easy to see what happened... he adopted his second and third kids. The young children were with him while he wrote the scripts and directed the films. In a sense he was doing it for them. What Dad would refuse his son a "funny talking" alien or a "way rad" surfing scene.

I think some posters here are far too believing in our "innocent until proven guilty" standards.

IANAL but in my limited brushes with the law, "innocence" is in the eye of the beholder - in many cases a trigger happy DA and an all-too-ready-to-convict jury at least half of which figure the DA knows what he's doing and the other half who don't understand the case at all.

Then there's the issue of having to deal with everything leading up to the "not guilty" verdict, possibly including large bail amounts, lawyer's fees, confiscation of equipment, inadvertent jail time and who knows what else.
