Why do people still allow root to login over ssh? One of the first things I do is disable that and require anyone who wants root access to log in normally and then log into root.
The problem with comments is that you now have two things to maintain, the code and the comments. When I see someone say this, changes are they do not commenting very well to begin with. My comments usually reflect the overall process of the program, not what the code is doing. As such, a section of code that I wrote can be changed and the comments are still applicable.
I actually like this feature. I hate when I am reading HTML and all the tags are capitalized. It looks horrible and it usually means I can expect to see some php right smack in the middle of it all.
I really do believe their will be massive demand for a PHP 4 only reliable host rolling their own security updates, after end of life. I know a reasonable percentage of our client base that would likely consider them... Such a company would likely charge a premium rate over a normal host. In which case, does it not make sense for the client to get a hired gun to come in and migrate the code for PHP 5? It shouldn't be hard, we are talking about small businesses here.
I think it's pretty obvious at this point that the US is quite happy to kill those tens of millions of innocent people for a perceived advantage; that's propably the top reason why Iran and NK are so desperate to get nukes.
I don't have the data in front of me, but it is safe to say that more people in Iraq have died from religious conflict that came out of the destabilization of Iraq than from U.S. forces in Iraq. The U.S. military uses laser-guided weapons for a reason. Cluster bombing is still more effective.
There is really no comparison between nuking Japan and the civilian casualties in Iraq. The U.S. was faced with losing hundreds of thousands more soldiers in order to defeat Japan in WWII. The Japanese military was wracked with fanaticism that forced Allied forces to earn each foot with spilled blood. If time was turned back to just before that point so the U.S. could make the decision again, I would still be in favor of nuking them to save Allied soldier's lives. Don't forget the Axis powers were the ones who started WWII. Placing blame on those trying to end it is bullshit.
Iran wants nukes for one reason: nationalism. The country has a piss poor economy and tons of social problems, but as long as they keep their eye on the prize, the current regime will remain in power.
It depends on where your focus is. OpenBSD has its focus on security first and foremost. Could Microsoft had done the same? Probably, but I think it is too late now. Should we forgive Microsoft for all their past security flaws because they are making (somewhat) of an effort? I would say yes and lets move forward, except for the fact that we have recently seem some pretty ridiculous security holes. So no, it is not really an unfair standard.
One of the reasons Verizon went to fiber is that it is cheaper to maintain than copper. If that means a direct benefit to the consumer by a cheaper montly rate, then I am still all for fiber.
Give me a break. Most people realize 'it just works' doesn't mean there are absolutely no problems.

Remind me not to borrow your iPhone.
No, he used it as a toy.
I gave up dotProject after I found myself spending more time using dotProject than actually doing work.

Market niche?
