Have you considered using DalSemi's iButton (www.ibutton.com)? It's basically a smart card encased in a stainless steel can. Java-based computer, RSA accelerator, etc. Decent documentation, free drivers, and a free IDE are available, supporting Windows and Linux. Programming for them is pretty simple, and they are about as secure as you can get--any attempt to compromise the button zero's the memory. And they are dirt cheap (relatively), the readers are about $15, and crypto buttons start at ~$35. They can also be used to control doors too (check out www.ibuttonlock.com)!
Have you ever checked out the knives made by Masters of Defense (www.mastersofdefense.com). They're top quality, some of the nicest knifes you will ever see.
Someone out there, help me out. What are we so afraid of? Why do we care if someone else's kid is looking at pornography? It isn't our business. Why do we care if our kid is looking at pornography for that matter? IMHO, it's just pictures. Get over it. If we spent half the time that we did trying to get filters placed on everything and infringe the 1st Amendment, we could have probably found a cure for AIDS, discovered extra-terrestrial life, or something that is truely significant. In 100 years, who cares if some 10 year old saw a dirty picture?
Dunno if anyone else saw it, but NORAD runs a sky search every year looking for unusual phenomona over the northern sky on the night of Christmas Eve. Apparently, a mixup of telephone numbers in the '40s had children calling NORAD instead of Sears looking to have a chat with the jolly fat man and ever since then, it's been tradition to look for S.C. They have a website somewhere where you can even see their progress. Imagine how much of your tax dollars are being spent to do this... Is that disgusting or what?
Why should we care if we play God or not? As long as we are willing to take responsibility for our actions (this is the key), why not do whatever the hell we feel like doing? If these scientists take reasonable precautions, let them create a bacterium. See what I care.

Kudos, you really hit the nail on the head with your comment.

Can anyone explain what a strange matter reaction is, other than the fact that it involves the muon-family?
