So this isn't even a race issue. People just don't like the idea that you can play as "the enemy" (whoever that is) and shoot at people _you_ consider friendly. Oh noes, what about all the WW2 games where you can play as the enemy? Shit.. Or all the games that happen way in the past, say, Age of Empires? Where do you want the line drawn? True, but I simply don't believe science has any reason to even consider, let alone mention "God" in any fashion. You can't waste time disproving something that no one can prove. The onus here is on those who believe. Basically, science need not worry itself with theological ideas. Just keep learning new facts, coming up with new theories and keep teaching them to the best of your ability.

If somehow, one day, the paths do truly cross, still don't mention religion. Just put the information out there and let those who are willing to accept new ideas, learn.

The funny part is the last portion of your retort saying you can stream files off your computer to the device to bypass the limitations of it. Why not cut out the middle man and just go with a real system (that you can build quite cheaply) that will play all the formats you want? And if it doesn't do what you need right now, tweak it so it does. Or, go with the Apple TV and still use your computer to actually watch what isn't on iTunes.

A PC might be lacking in many areas. But if it doesn't do what you need it to, you can _make it_ do it. What, media player doesn't allow your codec? Install VLC. What, Media Center isn't playing your codec? Install Boxee. What, windows sucks for your uses? Install Linux.

Apple: no we don't support that format, but why would you want to?

I know Demon [demon.net] are trialling a new gaming broadband service, however I don't think what they are doing is degrading the service for others.

From Demon.net: "Demon Game Pro will offer speeds of up to 20Mb downstream and 1Mb upstream, a free wireless router, traffic prioritisation and free static IP address, crucial to maintaining consistent uptime during gaming as well as providing an option for users to host their own game servers.

To stuff your bits down the tube first means some other person's bits have to wait. Think of it like a highway. If certain people pay to get to their exit first, you have to slow down to let them in and through. The best part is, once everyone is paying to stuff their bits down first, that service will then be "normal" as everyone will be on the same field again. Those that don't pay the "tax" will then have to deal with their traffic having the lowest priority and everyone paying is fighting each other for the same level of service.

Telecommunications providers need the ability to set different prices for different forms of Internet service, AT&T said, adding that it already has "hundreds" of customers who have paid extra for higher-priority services."

So you want to tier the internet. You want only certain things viewable if I "only" pay you $30/month. I'll get more, but probably not everything at $50/mo and at $100/month I'll get everything you think I should want, but of course, something will be blocked as it will probably be against your businesses interests for me to see and/or use it (competing services, etc).
