"Why did it get dropped 1 month later. Maybe the scammer used a phony credit card or did not pay the bill?"
It's called domain tasting. There's a 5-day redemption period after one registers a domain name. Squatters use this window to test / "taste" the domain to see if it gets any traffic. If not enough traffic comes, they decide to let it go and get a refund on it.
That's great! I was looking for a way to create my own TLD. I could care less about the stupid platform in the middle of nowhere. But being able to use it to get my own official domain extension.....ahhhhh.
What left-handed materials do is that it bends light in the opposite sense that we are accustomed. For example, if you place a pencil in a glass of water, the refraction of light will make the pencil appear shallower than its true position. If the pencil is placed in a left-handed medium, then the pencil will appear deeper than it actually is.
I say we skip the burst and go straight to 3.0. Then everybody's happy since there's no bursting, and we can stop talking about 2.0 finally.
I kindly refer to them as NutSol.

Looks like I'm 1 couch short...
YES! Let all burn calories, and a nice hole in our hearts while we're at it.
