  1. Its about time really on Disney Says, You WILL Watch the Ads · · Score: 0

Yeah you have to watch commercials. You also "have" to watch the commercials on the live feeds as well. At least we are moving to an on-demand system that will allow those of us who don't care to watch ABC at 7:30 pm to see some random show. We can watch it when ever. When this is all said and done it will be similar to this for every network. Eventually Cable and Telephone service providers will be nothing more than ISP's and who ever serves up the media will be the real winner. BTW I agree Disney's channels really don't offer much to me either but it is a start.

Yes. It will be possible to play it through your dvr first but it will be in real time so a 1h show will take an hour for your dvr to capture it.

Quote revlayle (964221) : my current employer has a MESS of a desktop app full of .NET front ends and legacy C++ backends in a mix of multiple versions of MFC and .NET - argh - which makes it unbearable at times, but only on the app I currently work on.

Currently most of my companies' work is with C# for both the Gui and the Business Layer. I can safely say that C# is nice for gui but to get the business layer speed of Natively compiled C++ is not feasible at this point in time though I will confess it is very easy to code in.

on topic: Web UI is great for what it is used for but lets face it for most tasks you are ultimately going to have some System language binaries feeding the gui. It really doesn't matter what the Gui is the Business and Data layers will always get better performance as a Native compile. Gui's are in my business done by either C# programmers or VB6 programmers and to be honest I could care less what they use it is the data and business layer that matters you could just as easily use a Web/Intranet based UI to fill the options and view the results. Almost all nix based software has command line interfaces for that very reason.

System development will not die because of AJAX or any subsequent tool that comes along because System development isn't really about viewing the data it is about processing it.

This and many more undocumented features are sure to listed in many more forums just like this. Buy Vista Ultimate it is Pretty and it costs more so you may do less.

Pressure Go Daddy and the like to sell packages that contain "All" permutations of the Address Requested. It is wrong to assume that just because you have a name that all other names similar to them are infringing. If this were true in the "real world" we would have to eliminate all but one John Smith and if John Smith was wealthier than John Smithe he and all other John Smithe's would have to go as well.

Well firstly whether you are aware or not likely you pay something towards the park. Also the Asterisk statement was an example of the Leaching system that OSS provides for. I am not against OSS and in-fact support it as much as I can, but someone eventually does have to put work in on it. I also feel that there should be a moral obligation, though not a legal one, to donate some of the profit, if not man-power to the software Community that helps support and create what they use. Basically the statement was to say that any MS OSS will be used the same as Linux based OSS and that OSS is OSS.

Or if you know how to program a compiler then you will notice that the emulator that you fear is very much like an interpretor. Most schools don't teach you everything you need to know to survive.
