I suppose then that we all are vaporware at one point in time, eh. I've got the disks and the manual for version 1.0. Course, i've also got the first 12 issues of Byte magazine too !

    Couple comments:

One, enjoy it. While it's always a rush to balance ten things at a time, after awhile I found it is just as gratifying to lead the parade, not repair it.

Two, while the physical exercise never hurts, I found that playing Go has greatly added and improved both my visual perception, and my ability to carry on background threads, solving problems throughout the day.

I enjoy Go for the game itself, but was surprised by the changes I've noticed. Now, if I can just beat that 7 year old in Korea I'll be happy !

  6. Start with a common component on The Problem with DHS's Plan to 'Buy American' · · Score: 1

Start with something common, and in every piece of electrical goody I can think of, the tantalum capacitor. Now go try to find one made in the USA, in bigger than 100 quantity. Have fun, you'll need to go to China. I suspect most of the other discrete components are in a similar fix. Those IC's need these things to work with the real world, and we don't make them anymore. There ain't nobody running around Washington DC that could make it ten minutes trying to buy 100% American.
