    Its base on making a 2.7 Trillion dollar cut (to proposed increases) to social service, eliminate Medicaid (by returning money to the states), pretty much gut Medicare and Social Security (both of which cannot survive with current incomes and disbursements), eliminate educational subsidies (because studies show increased government funding improves test scores right?), eliminate the social security net for the poor (you mean like disability pay for life?) and close tax loopholes for the middle class (I agree, we should close loopholes for everyone).

    Wow, even with all that he doesn't manage to balance the budget until 2030... That is insane. As for your rich with "the rest of the money" (is there only a limited amount of pie and you think your slice is too small?) and their overseas bank accounts... Maybe we should not ask why they are sheltering their money, but why as a society we lay claim to their money to the point that they HAVE to hide it overseas to keep money grubbing hands like yours off of it?

    There are crackpots in the Republican Party (Sarah Palin, Rick Santorum, the idiot with the "legitimate rape" comment). There are also crackpots in the Democratic Party.

    I don't know which comments you've been reading, but I don't think libertarians populate this site at all. Or at least from my perspective it seems like I'm the only one.

    The problem with OWS was that they were protesting, but they had no idea what they were protesting. They didn't have a coherent platform, they didn't have any organization, and most of them were just treating it like an extended street party.

    Actually you DON'T need to follow any TSA orders... The TSA 'officers' may not know this, but they have no legal authority to detain you as they are not law enforcement officers. The local police are the only ones who can arrest you. Of course good luck getting that to work for you in court.

    Then what about backyard pools? They are purely recreational as well and kill many times more toddlers and babies. I personally know someone who lost a family member due to drowning in the pool. I know of no one who died from swallowing magnets.

    I've never done the experiment, but I have the feeling it would end with a magneticy powder... Magnets are generally pretty brittle.

    You need a phone and a computer. You probably need a car too. That doesn't mean that BMW should be the best selling car in a recession. There are definitely cheaper smart phones and computers out there than Apple's offerings. If people were really hurting, maybe they should cut back on the luxury models of their business needs. And at every company I've ever worked for if you need a phone or a computer to do your job, then the company provides you with a company computer and/or phone or pays you a stipend to cover the costs of them.

    I was trying to make a point by indicating that shipping companies' warehousing jobs are probably no better than Amazon's warehouse jobs. If you are willing to pay more to give Amazon's warehouse workers a better deal, then why would you try to cheap out on the shipping option?

    But dear lord, do you know what UPS workers have to put up with? I can't imagine they are paid much more than the Amazon workers... So you are saying you should pay more for Amazon to treat their employers better, but screw those damn UPS workers, pay them at little as you can.

    Incorrect. Rand Paul and other libertarians would be A-OK with a company requiring you follow their security procedures as a condition of you being admitted onto their aircraft. In no way would private industries be allowed to spy on or search you or your possessions in your own home or in any public location.

    The social security program, if you assume the US Treasury prints the money (inflates) they already spent to cover Social Security payments that they are required by law to cover, will still be out of money by 2033. When do you plan on retiring? Or should the government continue printing money to cover Social Security payments in excess of what they collect in Social Security taxes?

    And I wasn't being serious about your sig either, just trying to point out that people blaming the failure of capitalism generally fail to realize that we don't have capitalism, and haven't had it for a long time.
