Actually, Ohio recently (within the last year) changed the law and now speed limits on interstates are 65 for all vehicles. I find it to be much nicer on the highway. However, I wonder why they didn't bump it to 70 to match pretty much all of the surrounding states.
Ok, so zero reward for drilling for oil. Hope you enjoy walking to work... Wait, you mean you own a car and buy gasoline. Oops, I guess you're a hypocrite. It's worth it for you, you voted with your dollars.
The problem with your assumption is that this is destroying an ecosystem. Do you even know what crude oil is? It's a naturally occurring, additive free, organic substance. It doesn't rampantly kill life on contact like say, mustard gas. Oil naturally leaks in plenty of places on the planet. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090513130944.htm It does kill some animals fairly quickly, but it also feeds algae and other microorganisms as well as plant life on the shore. I expect that the "fallout" from this spill will hurt the fish and shrimp industries this year, but in the coming years, they will have bumper crops. I'm not saying this isn't an environmental incident, I just fail to see the doomsday scenarios that everyone is talking about.
Yes, 100% of the time there has been an accident, contingency plans have failed. What you don't hear about are the thousands of accidents that WERE PREVENTED by contingency measures. There will always be accidents, but don't claim that contingency planning is totally useless. We don't know what caused the explosion, we probably never will. Don't assume that this was a failure that could have been prevented. For all we know it could have been intentional. Plenty of people are making knee-jerk reactions, maybe you might be one of them?
I was confused by this article for a similar reason. Isn't the earth just a big ol' ball of rock formed by the collisions of a bunch of asteroids that were orbiting in a cloud while the sun was forming? No shit the stuff on earth came from asteroids, the earth was FORMED by asteroids. One way or another, everything on earth has extraterrestrial origins because it had to come from somewhere, and the earth hasn't always existed.
Uverse is the only good thing to ever come out of AT&T.
I was originally fearful of getting Uverse, but I get much better internet service than I ever did from Time Warner, and I have no contract and can cancel penalty free anytime. Also, all of my service issues have been handled in a reasonable amount of time.
P.S. FUCK YOU IDLE, why is my comment writing box like 200 pixels wide?
I have an Archos 5 tablet (which is much smaller than the 7) and I am completely happy with it. Though it is locked down, it wasn't hard to unlock and have access to the whole library of Android apps. It also has GPS, which means I can use it to give directions in my car, track bicycle trips, use while hiking, etc. My only complaint is that the screen is glossy and unreadable outdoors, but an anti-glare protector fixed that. Oh and it had wifi included, connects and charges via USB, and *gasp* has a microSD slot for more memory. Why did I want an iPad again?
FYI, according to the USGS, the Himalayas are rising approximately 1cm per year (likely to assume land can drop that fast due to tectonic activity as well). According to the first line of the wikipedia page, the rate of ocean rise has averaged 1.8mm per year. So tectonics can be over 5 times as fast as ocean rising. Geological processes can quickly raise, lower, or split land. In an earthquake, landmasses can move several METERS in minutes. Tectonics is vastly more powerful than even the worst predictions of global warming.
Hmm, I thought the whole idea (and how it was portrayed on the show) was that the phaser transfers its energy into the object, not losing it all in some sort of bouncing, bullet like, effect that not only makes phasers less effective, but more likely to cause collateral damage.
The VHS to DVD conversion took years, despite the obvious advantages of DVD over VHS. In addition, the primary benefits were on navigation and not having to rewind, along with lower production costs that drove the conversion. This is not the case switching to Blu-ray. A better comparison would be DVD-audio disks, which are an utter failure. Since DVD and Blu-ray are the same size format and have the same navigation systems, CD and DVD audio disks are in the same boat, with an increase in quality being the only real separation. Only time will tell if Blu-ray takes over, but as for me, I won't make the switch until DVD and Blu-ray movies cost the same. I'm not willing to pay for the extra quality, and I suspect that is true of most people.
You mean like Star Trek? A show where the special effects included flashing, glowing, whirring, and switches/knobs. Then "rebooted" as a movie to look like the new Star Wars movies (quite literally). I mean really ILM? Are phasers supposed to ricochet?
Ok, so why don't we remove a fetus and try to let it live on it's own? Oh right, because once it's out, that would be murder, so we have to kill it before it's removed.
And I don't think all sex is consensual. In fact, I realize that rape happens, but a very small percentage of abortions are in rape cases, so stop trying to justify convenience abortions using rape as an excuse. And your assumption that I haven't had sex is correct. I am a virgin. I have had vaginal penetrative sex 0 times in my life. BUT WAIT, that's not all! It's not because I can't get a woman to have sex with me, in fact I've had them beg for it. But I'm not an idiot. I don't want to take care of a child, so I say hey, what's wrong with physical pleasure that doesn't result in pregnancy? I get to orgasm, you get to orgasm, and we didn't just create a life by accident! Isn't the human body amazing? And I don't believe that every sexual encounter should result in a child. I DO believe that if you're having sex (and you're not sterilized) than you should realize that the consequences of your actions could result in a child, and you should be open and willing to take responsibility for that action.
I'm not telling you what religious beliefs to accept, I'm just telling you to act like an adult and accept the consequences of your choices.
The only reason the government should care who you live with is because it's mandated by the census to take an account of the population by households. Also, if you have a shared income pool, the current tax system allows you to file a combined return. Other than that, there is no reason.
Why isn't a fetus a human? Genetically they are, biologically they are, mentally they may not be up to your ability, but neither are retarded people... My brother lives in my parents basement without a job. He is infringing on my parents rights. This is not fair to my parents. Why can't they just off him and be done with it?
The problem is, you're saying a fetus isn't a human because it can't survive on it's own. I'd bet if we took you to a remote island by yourself, you wouldn't last long either. There are plenty of people out there who need another person to survive, but we can't just go around killing people because they're a burden.
Also, you're assuming that a woman is an idiot. If you don't realize HAVING SEX can CREATE A BABY, than maybe YOU should be aborted. If she doesn't want a baby in her womb, than maybe she should avoid sticking sperm up there. Pro-choice is bullshit... If you have sex, than you made your choice. If you don't want a baby, DON'T HAVE SEX.
I understand that most billionaires don't spend it. However, many people who make millions do spend it (which is why they don't accumulate wealth). And yes, investments are there to make MORE wealth. Would you rather them invest in companies that fail? And loans do help the poor, just not predatory lending (which is often encouraged by the government).
Why is accumulating wealth bad for the economy? Would you rather everyone spent every dime they earned? Maybe if some people focused on accumulating wealth instead of leasing a new car and getting a second mortgage on their house, we wouldn't have a credit crisis.
-Yes, sweat shops that offer pay well above the local standard of living is such exploitation... Offering you low prices and giving the poorest of the poor a decent job is such a horrible thing for the rich to do. -Government waste is once again the source of the problem, not capitalism.
Either way, you're bitching because someone else got money, and they don't want to give it to YOU. Quit your bitching and get back to work to create your own damn wealth!
First off, I am a libertarian, so I wholeheartedly agree about the government having anything to do with marriage. As in, the government shouldn't allow gay marriage, nor should it allow straight marriage... The government shouldn't give a rats ass who you screw, just who you choose to live with.
Second, the problem with your second premise is: Where does your body end, and mine begin? I'm assuming you're talking about drugs, which as long as you don't hurt anyone else, I have no problem with. However, democrats also like to apply that logic to abortion. I'm sorry, but there are two lives we are talking about, not one. If I'm having sex with a woman, does my penis become part of her body just because it's inside her? Can she go all Bobbit on my ass and cut it off? After all, it can't survive on its own! Babies (fetuses are babies) are people too, citizens of these United States, and the government has a responsibility to protect their rights, the same as you and me.
Just a quick bit of pedantery... Looking at my can of BRAWNDO, the actual saying is:
BRAWNDO's got what plants crave. Brawndo's got electrolytes. And that's what plants crave. They crave electrolytes. Which is what Brawndo has. And that's why plants crave Brawndo. Not water, like from the toilet.
Whoever modded this offtopic is either uncultured or something went "woosh". Or maybe they could just be the most interesting mod in the world?
Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia are all posted at 70. Now if only people in those states could drive!

Preparations A-G were a complete failure, but now we have a working prototype which we shall call... Preparation H!
Why don't you just call it "Operation Ass Creme?"

Really, you think this beats out the Facebook Syphilis article?

The fuel quality isn't less. You use 97 RON, we use 92/93 AKI. Check the wikipedia page for a comparison of octane rating of fuels around the world.
