Neuronic Whips stimulated the nerve endings to cause pain. This just heats up the water in the body, I think.

I'm not saying that it's a bad thing to include LOL or other text-speak word into the "core language," but it's too early to say that it will do any good or bad to it. A little time is needed. But it's your language, do what you want to do with it.

Sorry for my grammar (I'm Hungarian, best excuse ever), but I think I made with it my point. :-)

The nature of language is that you must maintain it in order to prevent it from devolving. You must be carefull to separate the jargon from the main language. If we say LOL out loud, it would definitely mean some sort of devolvation.

As if people care. Grab anyone on the street and ask them about the Sony R00tkit fiaso, and see how many of them know about it.. then count those who actually care.
Living in a country where people don't care about bigger fuckups (hell, one of it made it's way to /. too), I think you're right. Probably the vast majority of people haven't heard about the rootkit stuff. But one of the gaming consoles targets are geeks and nerds, who should give a damn. But I'm not an expert.
Hell if didn't have friends that could afford it, I would probably buy one myself ^^
Good for you to have such great friends. :-)

Sony had a better reputation at the time of the PS2, so I think that this time, the sales figures will be a little different at least.

I think it's usability. Naturaly, the effect is "popular" in the evolution, so it's possible, that they produce similar substances to achieve the same effect. Think of the many opiate-s (heroin, opium, morfium). They all have similar effects, since they influence the same receptors.

Hmmm... It seems that trusting the host is a very important thing. As some have pointed out, it could be an opportunity for psychos, sexual predators, etc. So, how are they handling this problem? With feedbacks? This seems to me unreliable. Or with tracking the guests? I don't know, but I couldn't be comfortable with the idea of sleeping in a strangers house.
