It could be. All of a sudden the average user is now looking at HD-DVD. Especially when put together with the porn element, it good be the tilter on the scales.
I think the example that best aligns to this, is the mobile windows and the smart phones.
Anyone remember the first version of the smartphone? Boy was that poor. but look at it now.
I think what needs to be looked at, is look at the reviews for the Zune, yet it STILL is outselling many other MP3 players!

there are a bunch of people who have whole tapes of home videos, weddings etc that they can't be bothered to move to dvd.
for me, I bought a DVD with a HD. I record everything I want, I use editing to take out the commercials. I can set schedules for programs, and then dump them to DVD, take them with me to watch on my laptop, or when we get somewhere.
However, the reality is though, its mainly for sports and other live events I want to watch. For TV episodes, its just bit torrent. If you want to live in a commercial world, look at australia. The land where a television showing of the gladiator spans 5 hours to fit in all the commercials, where the last 20 minutes of the movie are stretched over an hour. where an episode of 24 takes 70 minutes, and they still cut bits out, and scrolling ads and text across crucial parts of teh screen.
The fact that Antigua stood up to the americans. Where is the rest of the world? Is everyone else really that scared of the US?
America stinks of things like this. They are just upset that so much money is going overseas. Imagine if every country did that? Made it illegal to buy american products.
Imagine that, if the whole world united and said we would not buy american products, gun crime and drugs would drop massively wouldn't they?
I think its funny that people still think of america as a democracy.
the rest of the world know that america only care about money and themselves and certainly are not a democracy. If it was, how did Bush win his first election? Why was the UN not involved? The number of scandals and corruption that takes places in PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE in the USA is frankly a scar on democracy. If african or middle eastern politics were like the USA then there would be an immediate worldwide outrage. However, because of the money involved in the USA the politicians get away with it. The real shame is, that the people who really want to make a difference are stopped from serving their country by the people who really run america; the rich.
Unfortunately, some people still believe that America IS a democracy and that the little guy actually has a voice there.
