As far as the same "Halo Crap", it's a franchise...people wouldn't buy a Halo game and expect Ratchet and Clank...they would expect Halo. They want a conclusion to the story arc, and they want closure on certain aspects of character development...what's wrong with that?

Beyond that, how am I a loser by playing a video game that I enjoy? Just because you don't like Halo 3 hasn't stopped over a million people from pre-ordering it...

The Halo series is just like World of Warcraft...whether you love it or hate it, you can't deny it's success in the gaming world. I know you must be all torn up inside about a game that millions of people around the world love and have a good time playing. Sorry about that.

Like so many others, you were judging a game's graphics based on its BETA. Liek so many other console gamers, this doesn't make you stupid, it just means you aren't used to the idea of a beta. See, in a beta, it is 100% assured that what you see is not the final product. Not in sound, balance, or even *gasp* graphics.

Try doing a side-by-side comparison of Halo 2 with the single-player screenshots of Halo 3 in the latest issue of Game Informer. Is it the same art style? Well yea, it wouldn't be halo without it...are the textures FAR FAR superior and is the detail vastly above anything in Halo 2? Yes indeedy.

Now stop being a little whiney bitch.

Considering how well Nintendo and Microsoft have been doing with their 7th generation consoles, and with the PS3 losing exclusives left and right, Sony has to do SOMETHING to get them in more homes. I personally love my PS3, I'm just annoyed that there really isn't any must-have games for it (yes, I know it will take a couple years).

That being said, I know that the numbers speak differently, but in all honesty in looking at the three 7th-gen consoles (which, btw, I own all three), I see every console as having a potential market of it's own...The Wii for it's "in-person multiplayer" appeal, the 360 for it's exclusives lineup and overall "feel", and the PS3 for the folks that want their gaming system to do something other than just play games.

Really, this is a very VERY exciting time to be a gamer. It's a shame everyone is still so ass-backwords and fighting with each other. This is the first generation that I could honestly see the big three living in harmony with each other if they would simply stay in their respective niche's...which, we all know, they won't.

Oh, and one more thing. Stop using 'SKU' in article summaries...not because it's used wrong, I'm just tired of hearing people argue about it's usage. That is all.

Remember folks. Play as many games on as many different platforms as you possibly can.

I think the OP's point is that this may be used in such a way that the parents don't bother devising their own system for raising their child based on their own child's needs/interests/wants...basically, using someone elses "system" for raising their own child.

I think I would have to agree. I can understand if you want some website to give you the rundown on what is in a movie so that you as a parent can make an educated decision about whether you child should see it or not. However, I wouldn't (and don't) agree with a service that tells you what is or isn't objectional in a movie/tv show/album. What you find to be objectional for YOUR children is not neccessarily what I find to be objectional for MY children.

Case in point. If you had one child who was a trouble causer...always starting fights, talking back, breaking things, etc....you would treat them and raise them very VERY differently than a child who is respectful, does their school work, and listens to what you as a parent have to tell them.

Something like this (much like our educational system) lumps all children into one group, basically deciding that if it isn't "ok" for one child, it isn't "ok" for all children. What needs to exist (and I'm sure it does) is a service in which the movie is outlined in great detail...instead of saying a scene has massive amounts of gore in it (because, as we all know, the level of violence in something is also open to opinion) it is simply stated what is shown... "someone is shot...no blood is shown." "someone is shot. blood is shown"

The main reason why I want it to stay an exclusive is so I actually have a reason to buy games for my PS3....cause right now, nearly every console game I'm buying is going to my 360...and the one's that AREN'T going to the 360 are either going to the Wii (which are few and far between as well) or to help out with my growing Dreamcast collection.

Sony sold me REALLY fast on the PS3...I love everything that it can do...I like it's multimedia capabilities, it's PSP integration, etc....I would LOVE to have a reason to play more PS3 games for it, but since I prefer the 360's controller, if a title comes out for both systems I will generally buy it for the 360...

So, you're asserting that the platform is a factor in whether or not a game is good
This was actually quite apparent on some games last-gen....case in point, Fight Night round 2 + 3 played FAR better on Xbox than they did on PS2...the Xbox (not the 360 version, just the plain ol' Xbox) had smoother graphics with a better framerate, and the controller itself seemed to be much easier to use (likely due to the "trigger style" buttons on the back).

and that being a PS3 exclusive somehow sucks any previously percieved fun out of the game?
This part I will agree with your opinion. I really really REALLY hope Haze does stay as a PS3 exclusive...Sony made it fairly easy to sell me the console, but they are making it hard to keep me happy with my purchase...in the past 6 months, my Super Nintendo has gotten more playtime than my PS3....that's just wrong.

First, my credentials as a lover of FPS games...I have been playing FPS regularly since Catacomb 3-D came on the scene...in that time, I have played countless FPS games on the PC. My first console FPS that involved actual aiming (Wolfenstein 3D/Doom on SNES don't really count in this instance) was Goldeneye.

Now. While I think for FPS NOTHING will EVER top a solid keyboard/mouse combination, I will also say that the 360 controller is sufficient for playing an FPS. It takes a while, I had to play through four or five first person shooters between Xbox and PS2 to get the hang of using a controller...while I will never be as good with a controller as I am with a K/M combo, I can hold my own in a multiplayer game.

Don't discredit the controller just because it's harder to use...it simply requires a different skill set. Once you get used to it, it works well enough. Again, you can't have the same accuracy and control as you do with a mouse and keyboard, but given enough time you will get comfortable enough with it to be able to just pick up and go.
