And is anyone aware of the massive oil deposit that is being discovered of the coast of Texas? It makes me wonder if oil doesn't actually take millions of years to make and the earth just spits it up every so often.
Aye, but adding sugar to overly salty soup makes shity soup. The best option is to not put too much salt in in the first place. We need to quit killing our atmosphere with pollution, instead of waiting until it's too late and then filling it with more crap to 'mask' the effect of the pollution.
Hmm, this kind of reminds me of when they introduced a species of animal into Australia that didn't belong there to combat another animal, then that animal thrived and caused more harm than good. When you make a soup too salty, you can't very well add more stuff to make it taste right. You gotta ditch it and make a new soup. We can't really ditch our atmosphere and start over, but we can definitely stop putting more crap in it before it's too late. I dream that my kid's first car will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells and spit water out the exhaust pipe.
I pretty much agree to everything you said. Our driving education is a joke. My dad was a police officer while I was growing up, and told us about how, under a few of the sergeants he worked for, he was required to maintain a quota of speeding citations. I chose to go through an extensive driving education program before I took the "'round the block test". I am told to obtain a license in Germany it is something like a full year of education and is fairly expensive. That being said, in my previous post I was merely being fantastical. I appreciate such a well thought-out reply to my bull-headed rantings, and such valid points, kudos!
Germany also has roughly half the number of traffic fatalities per capita as the US...
Indeed, but I bet that's only because the morons that don't know how to drive are already dead... Maybe that's why the United States traffic system is so dangerous, it's too safe to where it protects the people who probably should die...
It's okay, calm down, just take a breath and do a little research. If you actually read the information on the Das keyboard website, you would see that it isn't a $20.00 keyboard with no letters on the keys. $20.00 keyboards are $20.00 because they use rubber membranes to make contact with the circuit board. This keyboard is more expensive because the keys use "Gold-plated key switches". that are supposed to increase responsiveness and durability.
So in answer to your question "What fucking morons buy this shit?" All of the "fucking morons" that need more responsive, longer-lasting "shit".
Alright, that is freaking amazing, I almost want one but I already type rediculously fast and without looking. These should be in use in every public school though.
The features that this keyboard provide are widely unnecessary in comparison to the cost regarding home applications. This keyboard, however, would be absolutely perfect for implications such as the recording industry. In the record business, cost is hardly an issue compared to time, And when you're working with digital audio workstations, such as Pro-Tools which has hundreds of key commands that vastly speed up any recording or mixing process compared to just using a mouse, they are often un-intuitive and hard to memorize. A keyboard like this that could intuitively transform its layout upon starting different applications to reveal program-specific commands would be incredibly helpful, and just all around l33t.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. Forgive my ignorance. The statements made in my previous post were primarily comprised of my own observations, no acctual research or anything went into it. Just personal speculation of 'what makes macs macs'.

The "clitmouse" refers to a laptop mousing device that is basically composed of a pressure sensitive rubber bud, nestled in the keyboard, usually between the F, G, and T keys. They work almost like a mini joystick, and to some, resemble a certain part of the female anatomy...of course most of us on Slashdot wouldn't know what/where that is...
The computer Jihad will never end because there is no 'end all-beat all' hardware and/or software platform that can meet everyone's needs. Being an Audio Engineer, Macs just work better for me. I need the extra power, stability, and creative environment that they provide and the cost is usually not an issue because half the time I'm able to spend someone else's money, or ride it off as a tax deduction.
A PC is most likely going to suit little Johny-13-year-old who wants to play Warcraft all day, or, say, my mother who just needs to check email and create a spreadsheet on occasion.
Software engineers, network admins, IT professionals, etc. benefit greatly from the open-ended nature of linux platforms and the like.
Diversity in the computer industry is a good thing as the needs of computer users vary substantially.

"Err...well, yes Macs are more expensive because Apple ships them with an OS. That's because Apple has to recover the cost of developing that OS through sales of Mac hardware. Note that I'm not comparing the cost of Macs and PCs here, I'm talking about the cost of a Mac as an absolute. A Mac would be cheaper if Apple didn't have to develop OS X. Whether it would be worthwhile for them to do that I leave as a (rather obvious) exercise for the reader. "
And yet the hardware in a Mac is only half of what makes it a Mac. Apple designs products that seamlessly combine hardware that is compatible and optimized to work with the other hardware (i.e. motherboard is completely compatible with processor, etc.) and well-engineered software to effectively work together efficiently as one unit. The hardware that Apple selects alone does not make a Mac, and at the same time Mac OS alone does not make a Mac. It is the seamless integration of the two.

Hehe, me and my friends used to ditch highschool to play Mrs. Packman. Ahhh the quarters and education we wasted in those days...
