Ok so if the computer crash was caused by crossing the timeline, what happens if the jets cannot communicate with the GPS satellite network to figure out where the timeline is? What if some country knocks out the GPS network with a bunch of ASATs? Will that disable the entire USAF (once they're mothballed all their F-16s etc)?
Stand-alone systems FTW - distributed architecture just ain't reliable.
I can partially understand concerns about FPS games, especially when many players themselves misunderstand the purpose of the game. When people think the purpose is to kill your own team mates, destroy your own military's assets and betray your country (anyone who plays Battlefield 2 in particular will understand) - then I guess it figures that questions about what these games are about are raised.
Obviously getting a negative score isn't enough to convey the message that your just not getting it...
It's so obviously a weap0n of mass destructi0n - time to move in!
(Maybe should have got these same NASA analysts to examine the satellite surveillance photos of Iraq - if they took several years to come to this conclusion they're obviously more thorough and methodical):-)
I'm SURE "de-orbit" is a weasel word. At the very least, it's a euphemism for "let it fall out of the sky and hope it lands on something soft". But I like it:-)
When I read this I immediately thought Matrix Revolutions where Agent Smith sticks his hand into people to infect them with the computer virus; you gotta admit - it's similar; triggering actions through "physical" actions in a virtual environment... interesting.
I tried Second Life for the first time last week; gave up after 5 minutes - average ping of 9000 ms.

Ah, to live during the peak of capitalism.

Perhaps iTunes is one of those hundreds of other companies who've already entered into licensing arrangements with IBM ...
Right, where can I pre-order some of these!
