I'll another layer to this. I'm a foreigner and the thing that strikes me most about the States is experience is more valued than a degree (to some degree). So if you want any job, while you are at school, look for internships or co-op opportunity to get a foot in the door. I've been telling every student that ask me about career advice to do that.
Why do you assume that Nariko would be shallow? To me the one that is shallow here is you, since you choose to focus so much on her outer appearance. I'm pretty sure you have not seen any Asian martial arts movie or comic before right? Go read a few of those and you will see that strength is not all about physical appearances. Being petite != weak. I can go on and on but obviously you still need to widen your perspective a bit further before you can throw down such judgement. Not saying what you say in general is incorrect but the state that things are just a reflection of society. This is a game and certain real world experiences should be thrown out the door. If everything sticks clearly to real world physics, then you would be playing a sim. BTW are you a Star Wars or Star Trek fan? You should know where that question is going to lead...
Since you obviously DO NOT understand Thailand's culture, why don't you just keep quiet on this subject. Bringing other issues into play only shows how much you do not know how the Thais love their king. Free speech is one thing, but Asian culture is built on respecting society and it is something that you should spend A LOT of time trying to learn that.
