  1. Military owns oldest equipment still in use on What Is the Oldest Code Written Still Running? · · Score: 1

I would say the military owns hardware with code still being used thats very old. When I was in the Army, I used special equipement to fix old tanks dating back to the late 60's. Some of these diagnostic computers are still being used to repair old equipment. Otherwise it would be my old Atari 800 that my daughter plays on once in awhile.

Money is the biggest reason we don't see game in linux. It's not profitable. Writing extensive code to work with linux cost companies time and money. The best solution would be to make games compatible with WINE. Many games will work just fine in WINE with little configuration. If game companies kept that it mind, more games would get ported to linux.

I agree, more internet means more junk. If anything it will take away jobs. No need to hire more security guards when I can install cameras and watch them from my home. No need to get someone to do work on my computer while I'm away, I can access my computer from anywhere. No need to rent DVD's when I can download them from the Internet. I can now do all my shopping online, no need to go to the local retailers. And after everyone has 100GB of internet connection, everyone will be crawling back at dialup speeds because the backbone infrastructure can't handle the bandwidth.

The solution is simple. DYN-DNS. Half the people that have static IP's don't need them. Everyone gets them from their ISP for things like, home servers, security camera systems, office computers, etc. The price of static IP's will go up and the alternative will be to use DYN-DNS services to access your networks. WEB Hosting prices will also go up, no more lame websites lingering around. The Internet is filled with waste and garbage, time to clean it up.

Video games and welfare. Kids these days spend too much time playing games or chatting on the internet so they get too far behind in school. It's also too easy for kids these days to get welfare, specially pregnant teenagers. Society is breeding a generation of lazy people.
