Don't reboot it, just update the graphics and the sound and keep Syndicate otherwise the same. Great game. Similarly, the point-and-click Adventure adaptation of I Have No Mouth Yet I Must Scream would be just as great today with some updated graphics and better voice actors (keeping Harlan Ellison's original VO).
No third-world nation gets nuclear weapons due to an offensive objective. North Korea and Iran are building nuclear weapons due to the threats NK perceives it has from the United States and South Korea and Iran perceives it has from Israel and the United States. They don't want victory, they want a cold war. Once there's a cold war, everyone is afraid to invade and everyone does everything very carefully and governments stop worrying about those pesky human rights abuses and dictatorial controls. You also have the economic benefit of a new military-industrial complex to support this cold war. It's a win all the way around for the paranoid nation that gets it.
I predict we would actually see far more software emerge as people revisited old software which was no longer supported and made their own, better versions. I'd love to see new takes on software like Hypercard or even OSes like Windows 2000. Since neither are supported anymore, who does it hurt to open them up?
It has always been my personal belief that everyone should own a telescope so that they can look at the vastness and complexity of our universe in awe when they see it with their own eyes.
You probably won't be able to replicate this photo, but I just got my Galileoscope, a simple backyard 50mm achromatic refractor which the International Astronomer's Union is selling for $12.95. It's not the greatest telescope in the world, but for an amateur stargazer, it's perfect... and it's thirteen dollars. Plus, the whole thing is non-profit.

It might be worth it just to shut up the hoax conspiracy theorists. When private companies are sending their own rovers to the moon, it's pretty hard to call it a government cover-up anymore. Of course, I'm sure it won't convince the die-hards. Nothing will.
It was the 1980s. Between the feathered hair, the parachute pants and the Members Only jackets, nothing could save you from looking like a complete jackass.
I'm sure I wasn't the only child of the '80s who was pissed off when he found out that real cars don't have the swooshy red light thing. I didn't care that my parents' Toyota Corona wagon didn't have a superintelligent AI or a TURBO BOOST button, but why the hell couldn't they have put the swooshy red light on the front?
Hulu has shows like The Simpsons, The Office and The Daily Show. Mediafly has things like 'highlights' from Hardball with Chris Matthews and third-rate stand-up comedians. The fact that Dennis Miller is second from the top in their comedy selection shows how far they're stretching for content.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Roku box- $100 for the device and $9 a month for a Netflix account is cheaper than cable- but I doubt I'll be using this part of the service.
Peer-reviewed scientific journals are a 'frat'? Really?
Ah, "Wattsupwiththat"... A scholarly, peer-reviewed work on par with Nature and other leading scientific journals. And what a clever pun.
The Vikings didn't need a sea route to reach Siberia or China. They controlled Russia for 700 years starting in the 9th century.

"Ah, 1979. I remember it well. Just five short years before I lost my virginity."
You're crazy! If we allow dominoes to be played on a Sunday, we might as well legalize murder!

I thought Charlie Jade was pretty good South African sci-fi. Not a movie, a TV series, but still pretty good.
But it does allow reverse-engineering without fear of lawsuit.

The longest eclipse of the century, eh? If it were 2099 instead of 2009, that would be much more impressive.

Then they re-used the sets for Capricorn One.
I could have happily gone the rest of my life without knowing that little factoid. I'm certainly not eating any salmon for a while now.

Right after Duke Nukem Forever is released.
Funny, because I rarely hear about any Asian people being demeaned with that epithet.
Amazing how an interesting and informative comment can be totally ruined by pointless racism...
Love.
I, for one, welcome our new photosynthetic overlords.
Last time I checked, Honduras wasn't in South America. Just sayin'...
Good luck taking the government by force with your handguns versus their stealth bombers.
