From my understanding. Apple is better at making realistic pictures, while Google makes more photographic images. The duel camera and optical image stabilization does allow for more of the image to be available, while digital needs to cut off the margins. However if you take the Apple extra hardware and use Google's software then you probably would get a world class product.
Running on the treadmill, is a way to keep in shape, and stay healthy. What you are paying for is the value add of the Treadmill. Uniform running conditions, accurate tracking of your activity, ability to avoid the elements and workout in a climate controlled room.
You know I thought the point of games were for relaxation, recreation, and escapism. When you get to a point where you are just grinding to get the next thing so you can grind more. Is a point where where I decide the game is no longer fun and I stop playing it.
While I know that their are professional gamers out there, who will grind and do all the stuff needed for their craft, but for most people, it just becomes an unhealthy obsession. Where quitting is probably the better option.
I am not sure why the game maker needed to tell people how it is calculating XP. Because when they do, you just need to do some calc to fine the most otimized action to win fastest. Vs. actually enjoying the game.
Google thinks in software. Apple thinks in hardware. This isn’t a bad thing but different approaches to problems. Most facial recognition systems rely on smart software to look at the face and determine if it is you or not. Apple puts in some hardware to put IR dots on your face to make the software simpler. The pixel camera has a lot of software features to counteract hardware limitations. Apple will try to put more hardware to the problem. The hardware thinking is often leads to a more expensive product, that can be improved by better software in the future . While software thinking often come to peak ability much quicker requiring a hardware upgrade. However the product is cheaper.
Technically 1/2 the speed probably wouldn't be a big difference for online stores. I doubt it would be that noticeable. 30mbs vs 15mbs or even 2mbs vs 1mbs.
Where it would be more of an issue is for, the time sensitive releases. Such as a new iPhone that gets sold out in 5 minutes online, or The hottest sale which has a quick time to buy. So the ISP can slow down access to that site, so you don't get the deal, then if you still want it, you may go to the next lowest priced version who happens to be paying you for the speed.
If the ISP's cant afford to offer people full bandwidth, then they should equally cut all their bandwidth, and sell it at the speed that it actually is.
Saying you offer Gigabit internet, while it is only Gigabit to a few sites that they choose to be Gigabit is wrong, because you are buying what you thinks is a high speed network while you actually get a slow speed network with a few choice options.
I am a supporter of Net Neutrality. However off the wall statements doesn't help the cause. Being that I expect 80% of Cyber Monday is via Amazon, and 15% going via other big names. That these companies are willing to pay for premium access. What is more worrisome, is that in today's political climate. That pressure can be put on the ISPs to Slow down companies that they don't like. Currently CNN by the Trump administration. But when the Democrats get back in office, it could target Fox News. Slowing these services so they cannot stream, or express their views is the biggest problem that we face.
But will ISP try to slow down normal online stores? No I doubt it, because they are not in direct competition of the ISPs, and both political parties wants us to spend money.
There is the core issue between Liberals and Conservatives. Liberals strive for change, while Conservatives keep things as they are. Both ideas have good and bad points. While Change is necessary to fix problems, not all changes are good and you should put stock in the method that has been slowly fine tuned over the long run.
That said. For News media, Interesting stuff is usually what is new (hence News) so Liberal ideas will normally get the head lines, because the Conservative ideas are not new. Now this had created "Conservative News" which is really just bashing the Ideas as to keep the outrage towards the group high.
Now onto sites like Tumblr where you are expected to post new material and like and share what others have posted. Being that new material is needed to keep the site functioning, it needs Liberal minded people to provide the creativity. While the conservative people will more likely be the ones who would share existing material, and bring up older material. To make it worse, they may just keep bringing up the old ideas over and over again to a point where it isn't interesting. So the Conservative person will not have a strong Tumblr presence.
Now when I say Liberal and Conservative. I am not talking about what politics has labeled them. They are a lot of conservative Democrats, and Liberal Republicans. They just don't call themselves that because of the political label.
Just like for Linux I tend to get my software via the distribution main APT repository. For the key reason that what I am getting is more or less trusted and vetted. I haven’t rooted or jail broke my phone, for the key reason that what I can get from it, is much riskier.
Now Apple does need to be more open in their walled garden. Allowing tools to take advantage of the device even if it steps on UI rules or is a competition to their own product. I am sad to se my phyton app no longer supported and not working in iOS 11
It really depends where you look. Moving from 32 bit to 64 bit seemed slower because it has double the size of the opt-code stored in the executable. So more time is taking transferring data from slowest part of the computer. However once the data is there, especially with larger numbers, and the extra RAM so much more can be done. How we use computers had also changed over the past 40 years too. We use to run one application. What was called the OS was mostly a boot loader and when the Application was executed the OS sometimes had nearly been pushed out of memory. (for those without hard disks may remember the prompt when exiting an application "Please insert a disk with Command.com") Because nearly all of DOS was pushed out of the PC to run an application. Then they are features that we get that we don't think twice about. Lotus 123 for DOS worked on an 80x25 text display. If we were to use it today we would consider it nearly unusable. just because you wouldn't be able to see enough data. However this 80x25 screen meant that there is much less processing to show values on the screen.
That said... A lot of app makers try to keep on selling new versions and adding more features that we really don't use. On a server we had a legacy app with Excel 95 on it. We had to upgrade it for security concerns, but before that. Excel 95 really flew on a modern PC, and there are not too many features that I really care to use on the new version. It would be nice if application makers, just put in add ins vs upgrading the core software. So I can keep basic Excel 95 on a new system, without adding features that I don't need.
However they have built a policy where bad videos get demonized after being flagged. That is the real problem. AI are good at mass checking a lot of data, because it is impossible for a team of people to review all the content. However when things get flagged it needs human intervention and during this time the maker is not getting paid for his content during its critical 24 view window. The AI itself is decent, the policy behind it is bad. The policy is due the Dumb smart people who are so enthralled about their tech that they put a blind eye to its problems and let people suffer from it.
While these are good skills the degree shouldn’t be a baseline for employment. Because too many people are wasting 4 years of their lives in education just so they can get a job. Many have these skills beforehand but knowing they need to work the system they get the degree to get the job. College isn’t designed to be a job training center. They want to focus on learning and education. A lot of good people are wasting time in college just for the degree and not for the enlightenment of learning.
Granted now in general more women are getting degrees then men. However this is a new trend. But it could also explain why many jobs need a degree and many years of experience. There were other problems such as checking credit score, or having a good list of recommendations. While under the guise of finding better employees it is just a way to make sure they can hire the white man for the job. Things such as education and glowing recommendation can help you out they shouldn’t be the baseline for employment. I saw one job for an mid level programmer requiring a degree from a top 10 college. It is just a way to avoid having people they are uncomfortable with.
So if I made a Web Application on GIT Hub, and I attached my downloaded version of jquery to my project, would that count?
These Libraries (espectially Javascript) are in source code form, and being so general purpose, they probably take up just as much space if not more then the app that uses it.
Modern Farming is often more Technically advanced then many of these so called Tech jobs. Automated Robotic Systems, Big data collections, Bio and Chemical Engineering... Farmer Brown needs to be just as Apt in front of a computer as he does with a pitchfork.
Farming may be tough work, but it is challenging hands on career that for some people is very reward. Me growing up on a Farm, it is the furthest thing I would like to do, but for others it is a good rewarding job.
With the rise in interest of more natural farming, and locally sourced food etc... It would make sense that a renewed interest in farming is becoming more popular. Besides a lot of people think we are going to hit some big disaster that will knock us to the dark ages, so being a farmer is a good place to be.
The race to the bottom is normally what causes companies to fail. To compete on lower prices is a net loss game. Because you sacrifice your product recognition, and quality standards in a death loop spiral to sell the cheapest. This is what happed to the Desktop PC market during the early 00’s. They all pushed in trying to shove crappy under $500 desktops out. That no one really wanted it. So they switch to laptops and phones. Because they were just as fast but portable. Even if they did cost more.
The Ethics portion of the Modern MBA was a response to ENRON. For my school every course had a portion explaining ethical issues, reminding that such decisions will affect human life. And even if the numbers show a net positive there may be someone who is negatively affected and those who are needs to be worked with to minimize their affect.
Most MBA programs are taken by professionals part time. Believe it or not it is a masters degree program. That covers aspects in business that you may not have covered in your job. It teaches people to not do the stupid things that MBA get blamed for doing while the real culprit of these things are often some over ambitious middle manager without an MBA.
Being a company Apples size and popularity, they could be a driving force to change the demographics and wealth in these areas by putting a store in such areas.
However Apple stores are not that big and they are not really big profit centers for a community, they are a relativity small store, who would higher a few dozen people. It would drive wealthier people into the areas to purchase the product, and perhaps they will visit other stores too.
I think the reason why this got in, is because we are suppose to Hate Apple, and we want to find every reason to hate Apple and prove how Evil they really are...
Apple is the worlds largest company, they do a lot of nasty things... However compared to Microsoft during the late 1990's, Apple has been a relatively good company in terms of not forcing us to be locked in. There is a thriving android market, and if You don't want an Apple device you are not really stuck with a no name brand that everyone laughs at you for having.
The real question is why are areas where minorities live tend to have less money. And more to the point why are these areas have such larger clusters of minorities, then the general population.
While I expect Apple could help these communities by opening up a store, however it doesn't make business sense to sell "premium" products in a depressed area. And chances were for Apple they didn't take race into consideration on where their stores are placed.
If only the United States was a global power open to Global Trade.
The reason that during most of the 20th century that China was out of global influence is the fact they were Isolated China First mentality. So rest of the world grew and advanced ahead of them, then when they realized it, they were far behind and it took decades to get caught back up. Economic success is tied to number of workers and number of customers.
