Here is the thing about computers and automation. They do not make your lives easier, they make them more difficult. Computers and robots are taking away the easy jobs, leaving the hard jobs, that requires more complex thinking, creativity and problem solving skills, and a wider range of movement. Where every day your job will be different.

We cannot try to slow this down (AKA America First), we cannot really ignore the problem (AKA basic income). However there needs to be an effort to get people onto the fact that they need to change, because people can change faster then a computer can. This includes Training the employees, and changing businesses to allow people who do not have the experience to get in and build the experience.

Unions number one goal is to keep the union going and expanding due paying members. That is their core motivation.
This alone isn't bad as a union can choose to achieve this goal by offering services that will make the workers to want to stay with the union. However most of them will often do back deal jobs to keep their numbers up. Such as laying off the older higher paid workers to bring in the cheaper newer workers. Lay off old joe who makes 6 figures and hire 2 kid bills who will be paid half as much. That way you get 2 due paying members with a loss of one. While old joe has been a company man for over 30 years and laying him off has completely screwed his life.

Yea Millenials... For the most part it isn't that they found a new discovery, it is just with the Antenna they can watch local show, and use streaming services for the rest.

The way it was written made it seem like it was really a new thing... However there are few things about the newer technology that we should realize.
    1. Most New TVs do not come built in with an Antenna.
    2. Old TVs with Antenna normally will not support our current digital standards.
Both 1 and 2 means the person will need to make a conscious decision to go with an Antenna. Vs. the good old day which it was the default state of having a TV.
    3. Late Boomers and Early Gen-X who birth the Millennials with their wonderful middle class life style and salaries and cost of living mostly designed for the middle class, could afford Cable TV so their kids grew up with Cable TV as the normal for life.
    4. These Millenials are starting to move out of their parents house as the economy is getting better and college debts are getting paid. So they getting their own place, and will need to get their own TV's and other things, thus making a decision on what to use.
    5. Cable TV has gown down the tubes. (No pun attended) BBC America Plays mostly Star Trek, and Doctor Who. Lifetime keeps on playing My 600 lbs life... All the channels seems to be stuck on a binge watch loop, which I don't want on my broadcast TV, that is what streaming is for. I want to see variety, so if I am board I can channel surf and find something new. Back in the older days, Cable TV had variety, BBC America played British Shows. Discover had educational content. History channel had historical documentaries.....
    6. Local Channels are still competitive. Being the Cable stations stink, the Local Channels are still producing new content. So you get the channels you want to view over the Antenna.

This story isn't how Millenials are discovering the Antenna, but are choosing it over the alternatives.

Most Apps are not really made by professional software developers. It reminds me back in the early desktop era, where most applications were made by people who had their own problem to solve. Without actual practice in coding, they wrote a program to do what was needed, but without much planning or for-site. Being these computers did one thing at a time, if it took 0.5 second vs 0.01 second wasn't a big deal, because it didn't affect other systems. So if you wanted a pause you can figure out the speed of your cpu and just loop x thousand of times. Moved to a multi-tasking system, that is great way to kill your jobs.

Now companies are trying to race to Device Apps. But except for bringing in the old developers and get them to learn the new software, they hire flashy new App developers, who have Objective C and Swift and all the buzzword systems on their resumes, but not people with experience with coding, and for these new devices, which are relativity low powered, the talent to think about system resources.

TopRight 5x5, Right 5x1, BottomRight 5x5, Bottom 1x5, BottomLeft 5x5. Then I just stretched the images in the right spot to create the effect. during this time people were still using dial-up modems, so we needed to keep download size small while trying to keep the product visually appealing.
A lot of places that I see now, if they didn't choose to use the CSS or didn't know how, I just see huge pictures to do the place of a small picture used smartly.

Partially due to Minimum wage not matching what is needed to survive in given areas. Then there is the fact college students are under heavy debt, that they are now asked to pay back, until their credit is good enough for a business loan.

However you can start a company in the newer business incubators say in Upstate NY, or in a rural town trying to attract technology firms.
The investors are following the new businesses, so a small business that can pay the rent for their business and their living for less than a $2000 a month. While selling products at the same price as the more expensive locations.

Also the 1990 New Economy that sparked Silicon Valley, had been proven a great failure. So while technology is hot again, it is far more reserved, and will not classify a pet food store as a tech company because it sells its product on the internet at a loss.

  22. Well just as long as Google stays responsible on their adds then I am good with it.
The problem I always had with adds on the internet ever sense 1994 were adds that just got overly aggressive. The adds help pay for the content people want to see, however they shouldn't prevent people from being able to access the content, or just disrespectful to the cost of bandwidth, and time on the peoples devices.
