Obviously, we have some bias when it comes to ad-blocking extensions, as Computerworld is an ad-supported site. We also understand that these are very popular extensions. But if everyone blocked ads, how would sites such as ours continue to offer content free of charge?

We'll be the first to admit that there are some horribly annoying ads out there. (Buzzing bee, anyone?) But we prefer using Nuke Anything Enhanced to zap the annoying ads while continuing to support the sites we love by allowing most ads to appear.

What a crock of crap! Pure nonsense, to suggest that a extension is worthless to users because it takes away from your revenue is just showcasing blatant bias. Come of your high horse (if you ever had one)

....from AFA.. "Why Firefox has lost it's mojo"

Worse yet, in the intervening time, Internet Explorer caught up. Its tabbed browsing is now superior to Firefox's, for example, and it added plenty of new features, such as anti-phishing capabilities (which Firefox also has). Firefox is no longer the better browser; its extensions and add-ons are superior, but that's about it.

IE's tabbing is superior? Says who? Based on What? The author dismisses extensions like yesterdays news, when they wrote a story about the top 20 and 10 worst? Besides that, extensions are a key and valuable component to FF.

What are these hybric cars you speak of? There isn't anything a Mac can do that a PC can't. I have crashed there OS several times, so it can't run stable. I can't remember the last time I had XP crash, although it does happen. I can recall sitting in class, closed the lid on my iBook, opened it up, BSOD (Black Screen of Death) Linux doesn't run nearly enough apps in native mode to make it a viable alternative. No Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Running servers it is awesome obvioulsy, and my first choice (Free+Stable=Can't be beat) I prefer XP for my creative work. My iBook is only used for mobile file access and web surfing. beyond that it's pretty well useless. Not powerful enough to run photoshop or many apps like the newer macs can (Its a g3 900mhz) and the screen is way too small. My PC i built however, has faster ram (800mhz, capable of 1000mhz), more mobo options, should be able to OC my e6400 faster than any Mac. I don't even know if you can OC an Intel based mac. I would assume so. Higher FSB, better graphics card, etc. All for about $1000 less than a Mac. There are very few legitimate reasons to own a Mac over a PC. If you can't secure a PC, Like shiny things, Can't build your own computer, have fleece, need to look cool... buy a mac. But if you actaully need to do something.. PC/Nux.

The key flaw in your argument is that accidents are ACCIDENT'S. Terrorist attacks are premeditated acts which are inherently more predictable considering that, while I may accidentally hit you on the way home, as the many thousands of other drivers that are on the road that are capable of killing me or you. You cannot possibly fathom protecting every person on the road. While the government goes to what some may say extreme lengths to protect our soldiers from terrorist, it is an immensely more achievable than protecting them from every person on the road.

Moreover, Terrorists are actively trying to kill soldiers. Now, there are a lot of bad drivers out there, but I'm going to say there is a far smaller percentage that are actively trying to kill you than the percentage of terrorists trying to kill soldiers. Say I don't know 10% of drivers out there want to kill you versus the 100% of terrorists trying to kill you.

Further more, Saying we lost 1000 soldiers to "accidents" is more of a loss to our nations is clearly not examining the entire aspect of the situation. Considering that if you attack any major military installation in the United States you could take a large number of lives plus a large amount of data and resources. Far more than any "accident" or accidents.

Besides, what is the difference if the FBI or CIA sees this information versus the IRS? Is the FBI going to magically take all your money because you failed to file for income taxes, and the IRS would not?
