while you are right about the federal constitution I do not believe that state constitutions have as much strength.

For instance, if a state constitution had a clause that was in complete conflict with the federal constitution (IE nobody has any free speech at all... or no freedom from search and seizure) I think the Federal constitution would trump the state constitution and that would ultimately be decided in federal courts.

I dont believe this has happened in the past however... any example of it would have to be rather unusual.

I dont have a problem with that...

as far as I am concerned wrong is wrong... even if the supermajority disagrees.

What if Utah passed a state constitutional amendment that let the authorities run roughshod over your rights... tap your phones, put cameras in your house, break in at any time to search and seize your property.

that would be unconstitutional and I would expect the federal courts to overturn the beliefs of the supermajority in Utah.

this info needs to be public... if you want it to stay out of the public eye to allow for unbiased jury selection then you must do more to keep it public than tell everyone who comes to the public trial not to talk about it.

My original comment was in reponce to someone saying that touting the radeon in the mini is a bad idea because its not a very good card... I simply pointed out that it is superior to the video hardware that comes standard in a low end PC.

For the record, your the one that brough up 3d games (like anyone on a mini or a low end PC is concerned with playing high end games)

they have the same target market... the low end. sure, you can put a bad ass card in that cut rate PC and you will have a cut rate PC with a bad ass video card... still not a good gaming PC for a variety of reasons. yes... you could keep upgrading it but by the time you are done it wont look very much like the computer you started with.

the mac mini trumps similar PCs with its video hardware and that is all there is to it. Its not fair to compare the mini to computers that are in a totally different class. The mini is not meant to be a gaming powerhouse but it does have pretty darn good video hardware.

I didnt mean to imply that the harley was the only V-twin out there... I have ridden others and the all share many of the same features.

and although I am a V-twin guy, I loved the blackbird when I rode it... stability, comfort, power... very easy to handle for a bike that size.

I think you would be surprised though, at the state of the modern 88 ci engine from harley... they are quite nice, and while not set up for maximum speed like a racing bike with a V-twin (ducati) they are quite plesant to ride and very easy to work on.

Also, the V-rod power-plant is a harley engine... it is derived from their super-bike engine and it is the first water-cooled engine Harley has put into production... totally different from anything they had done before. Porsche came into the picture because harley needed their expertise in brining their track technology into a production format... something Porsche is very good at.

first off... if you cant hear a harley or some guys mustang next to you in your car, SUV or not, you should get your ears checked.

Second the reason it is different on a motorcycle is because the rider almost never comes away from an accident unharmed. in a car you probably wouldnt go out of your way to reduce the chances of an accident by 1% but on a motorcycle, you would.

they get the power from less displacement by using more complicated engines... overhead chain driven cams as opposed to push rods let you punch the RPMs up far higher and produce more power.

check out the V-rod and you will find that it is much more similar to to a sport bike in terms of the engine.

the real beauty of the harley is that it is a V-twin. it has a lot of torque as a result... 4 cylinder bikes just dont have that, they feel different and they ride different... sure, if you push them up to a very high RPM they will go very very fast, but give me a V-tiwn any day, cruiser or sport bike.
