Yes, I'm talking about the $1 trillion that the Iraq war is costing us
Wow, bombing, creating Chaos in another country cost Americans $1 trillons just to feel safer? Because there might be some truth about alleged WMD.

The billions of dollars are not going to be paid by Airliners but rather by customers. How is it going to help anyone feel safer when all around you you see safety measures (Army in the airport, Dogs sniffers, getting tourough search inspection, fingerprinting) It makes me feel like a criminal.

Also, with the higher price for a plane ticket, added taxes for "security" measures, cost around 50% more for any plane ticket (then pre-9/11). This is very nice, this is going to help alot of people get to their loving families and friends around the country and abroad, not counting the hit on business travel.

When taking a decision that has high impact like this one, one must think of all the impact this will have and plan for those, then keep thinking, and prepare for all the impact that were not planned. [*inspired by Max Weber : sociologist, Economist]

Sorry if this has been posted already. But I was questionning myself on this topic. Everytime I hear/read something about women not being represented in Math/Engineering/ComputerScience/Electronics... I hear myself think : "Why aren't they making a fuss about why is there no men in Health care, psychology, teaching, nursing, Social Science in general."

I used to be a true Geek, but 1 day I snapped and realized that I was more talented and motivated by the social sciences. I did the switch, trying to go back to school I was trying to find funds to pay for my schooling. I could easily find grants for women going in Technology, But couldn't manage to find 1 for a guy going into the a "women program". Anyhow... had to drop out of University, even tough I had student loans I could not afford to pay for an apartment, tuition, food, and maintain sanity.

They also can be SMALLER and have a LONGER battery life than the iPhone.

Smaller compare to what? a Blackberry?? palm?? altough iPhone looks larger (larger display, which I find interrersting) it is also slimer then any of the current smartphone on the market.

Longer battery life? I don't know yet... still a longway from Launch day and specs are not all out yet...

Don't want to be flaimbaiting... But it seems to me that people are pissed at Apple inc. for releasing the iPhone. To me it seems to be a very nice smartphone/iPod. Maybe people dislike the fact that they will not be able to afford one on launch day, baring the cost and the fact that it is limited to 1 provider (at the moment) and bitch about the phone by saying : "it's not new...", "my smartphone already does all this...", "Damn them, I can have one...", etc..

There is no arguing here, or advertisement either... it is basic search engine algorithm. Yahoo, MSN, and Google don't use the same Algorithm, that is why Google was very popular very fast they were arguably much more efficient then the others and IMHO still are.

First off you have the limitation of the speed of light
True, but... Never forget that speed is calculated from a point of reference. Thus, altought you may never travel faster then the speed of light (With the current knowledge of physics) you may get to your destination faster. Let me explain : If i'm sitting in a plane going at 700km/h, my personal speed is still 0 km/h. But if for some weird reason the plane would be to disapear... I would be flying foward a 700km/h for a few seconds, but my personnal speed would still be 0km/h. If we were to use a moving body that create great velocity it would be possible to acheive great distance with relatively no speed. Think about it...
