You really need to re-examine your priorities if you get this worked up over something that really has no effect on you. It's time to start asking yourself why you're so bitter.
A ha! The Moose is still alive. Great program. Reminds me of the wonderful early '90s. When Macs were expensive and Windows was complete crap, not barely passable crap.

I agree. One of my friends was all excited upon seeing the trailer. It looked awful. Tantalized by the trailers? Geez.
Wow -- I had no idea. I guess it's a good idea. It seems like kind of a big time-sucker. This is impressive. A list of topics in the "Town Square" board:

I lost over 6lbs this week....here's how.
I agree that eBay could be a little more helpful. A friend of mine was trying to sell some peculiar professional television equipment. The fellow who won (who was from Canada) refused to understand that he lived in another country (when the auction was US-only.) Furthermore he also refused to pay on time and left lots of very nasty feedback for my friend.
eBay wouldn't do anything for seven days after the end of the auction (during which period the other buyer changed his mind) and never addressed the offensive feedback that the buyer left. It was something of a mess.
One of the things I love about the Internet and almost all of the communities that arise are the "commando" types that they engender.
Slashdot certainly has a very deoted commando group, but I'm a little surprised to see eBay having one that is so aggressive. Good for them, I guess. Typically these sorts of people are just annoying.
This guy does seem to be pretty scummy. I've done a _lot_ of stuff on eBay and have never been burned. Is that unusual? I haven't really heard of many people getting screwed by sellers. Typically buyers not sending money, which isn't such a big deal.
Umm, Jason -- didn't you just make the following post to a different discussion:
"NO, HE DIDN'T [urbanlegends.com]. Jesus fucking Christ, are all of you Slashbots that stupid? I can produce evidence that he publicly denies saying that infamous quote. You say "He did, in 1981." Where? When? Were you sitting on the toilet in Redmond when he said it to an associate in the executive washroom? You weren't even born in 1981.
There is no proof, beyond typical anti-Microsoft FUD, that Bill Gates ever said "640 KB ought to be enough for anybody." Please go away now."

Do make up your mind. Or did the stupid Slashdots change your mind. Or are you just fishing for karma? Grow up, man. It's just a website.
You make the mistake of assuming these people care. I've been in an intro CS course. Nobody wants to be there. The people who never bothered to test out don't want to be there because they know it all, the others don't want to know any of it. They just want a decent grade. Heck even many of the IS/IT students I know don't give a whit about programming. They find Java to be damned difficult.
Don't ask about some of the experiences I've had helping people in intro CS courses with linked lists/pointers/etc.
Exactly -- one must assume that the fenced cliffs have much higher people traffic and an increased likeliness to have fallings than the un-fenced cliffs.

Nowadays it's more like "They all surf the web, and they all crash, but that one crashes less, looks really cool, lets me write DVDs, has a flat screen, is easy to use, is fast, and lets me do some really cool stuff that the neighbors can't. I'll take that one."
> Apple tend to milk its customer base for

What version of Windows do you use? How much did you pay for it? What was your previous version of Windows? How much did you pay for that? What about the version of Windows that you bought before that? (And don't tell me you pirated it. That doesn't count.)
> They are also losing users to PC
Not so much nowadays. I'm consistently shocked at the number of people here who have an iBook running OS X.
> Apple is appealing to low tech new users
> because of ease of use and style
Hi tech users too. How can "ease of use and style" ever be unappealing?
The people who are bewildered as to why Mac users tend to form communities where Windows ones don't really should read the previous three messages. It's heartwarming. Good luck, guys.
I understand that many people use specific accounts for their mailing lists and other spam-generating traffic. It helps keep the signal-to-noise ratio of your real account low. (Assuming you don't use some sort of filtering system.)
Not if you rotate your buckshot frequencies more quickly than they can remodulate. (Of course, your arm will get tired after swapping shells for a few minutes.)
True, indeed. The other day I had to subtly use a PC in a Gateway Country (I was out of town and lost) while pretending to be interested in the crappy thing to the guy who kept trying to sell it to me.
The browser kept breaking, Google didn't load properly, and every time I tried to do something quickly, a new, annoying window popped up. The the media player started and took over the screen. Finally, I found the directions that I needed, got the guy's business card and swore to myself that I'd never use XP again.
Power? They're bloody fast. And I can do, qualitatively, "more" as a user bringing one home with my Mac (and iMovie, iDVD, iTunes, iPhoto, etc.) than I can with my PC.
Upgradeability? Get a tower.
The longer the stretch, the hollower the argument. I have to admit, I find the rabid mac haters pretty amusing. Five years ago, maybe. It just doesn't fly today.

Quality financial risk management services, eh?
It didn't work--I entered everything twice to make sure it wasn't my error. Crappy site you refer us to!
Unclench, man.

Flamebait? That's bightin' funny!
That's probably why you aren't a computer thief.

Is that what you call the weird twitching the characters do when they appear to be talking?
Exactly -- one must assume that the fenced cliffs have much higher people traffic and an increased likeliness to have fallings than the un-fenced cliffs.
Quite frankly, any CEO who doesn't have that goal should be removed at once and sent home on his fancy jet. Even if he does cool stuff.

You're the one who walked into an Apple Store and remarked on the prompt, friendly service. =)

That's not redundant, that's funny! And almost astute.
Apple has a license with Xerox, and the MS suit was settled (much to the detriment of Apple, I'm afraid.)

Versatility? What does that mean?
