Keep in mind that our pools are also laden with chemicals to keep them "clean"

In nature there aren't too many sources of pure H2O, collections of glacial water pools/collections are probably one of the few naturally-occuring sources of relatively pure water, and you'll note that they tend to be quite blue.

  4. Re:Is there a reason to want to do that? on VMWare Rolls Out Vista Virtualization · · Score: 2, Informative

As an end-user--yeah, I agree totally As a developer, it's invaluable. As more people buying computers are being defaulted to Vista we need to ensure compatibility. We've got a dedicated Vista-box used just for testing--but a VM provides an easily resettable environment to try all tests in all combinations. The nicest thing that I've seen with VMWare 6 is that you can run VS2005 in XP, run it's solution within a Vista VM and still debug from the IDE (running on the host-OS). The alternative to this would be running VS2005 directly in Vista (which is known to be a nightmare to do). Anyways, THE SINGLE biggest feature of VMWare 6 that I'm enjoying is multiple-monitor support. Visual Studio 2005 is incredibly unstable and degrades with time. This means I'll build a base-image to develop on, and when performance drags and bugs creep in I'll just rollback.

Props to you on a good response, sir! As a computer guy, I've made sure to tell *EVERYONE* whom has asked me about setting up wireless that the manufacturers sell the devices in an idiot-friendly/insecure state. The problem could be alleviated through technology, we just need a way to setup a secure encrypted network out of the box with as little knowledge as is currently needed to setup an insecure network out of the box. Companies have tried, Linksys' Secure Easy Setup is a good example. Push a button on the router and then a button on your wireless card's software and it accepts them as trusted and configures both ends--the only problem is I've had trouble getting it to work.

Touchscreens are great, but some things require a tactile response. The best (personal) example I have is those laser-projected keyboards for Palm-Pilots. It looks like a dock for the Palm, and projects a full keyboard onto the surface in front of it, which you then type on as normal. I hate the thing. I tried one for 2 weeks and my typing skills never got better than they were in 9th grade (not pretty). Plus to add to it, striking your finger tips on a desktop several hundred times a minute hurts. It's hard to appreciate the fact that the depression of a key on your keyboard actually acts as a cushion/shock absorber until you lose that.

Booting from the CD gives you the entire OS, you can add/remove applications and use it like a normal OS.
