    And in the case im talking about, all it takes is a proverbial one bit switch to go from limited record to always on, so one should assume they are ALWAYS on.

    Fear of the unknown is still fear. The religious generally assuage their fear of not knowing with falsehoods. Science is certainly not devoid of humanity, thats jsut stupid. Sagan, Einstein were both HUGE humanists. Thats the important part, recognizing the humanity of the situation.

    The point is, that if they wanted to, altering the buffer circuit to continuously record is trivial. Its a software change, and so in that sense, they ARE recording at all times, because the option to exists.

    Blu-ray is limping along compared to DVD adoption. Optical discs are most definitely on their way out. Very few people give a shit about 1080p perfection. They just want to watch a movie, now.

    God Damn It!. 'Real work' is not the exclusive domain of workstations. People do REAL WORK everyday on phones and tablets etc. Your dismissal of non-workstations as toys shows your ignorance on the subject.

    There is no cloud 'hype'. Big storage folders on the net is a giant BOON. Just dont use it in stupid ways, like thinking that its a backup or private.

    I hate to break it to you, but iPhone is the new MS windows in terms of ubiquity. It carries BY FAR the biggest inertia and is almost always targeted first in mobile dev. You can decry the state of affairs all you want, but the the fact remains iOS is the current de facto standard.
