    Remove the battery, it is no longer a risk. Its still a very fully featured computer that could be embedded into lots of things. Better than them all going into landfill.

    Irrelevant argument. You are comparing something that has a real-world cost to produce. Movies have almost zero reproduction cost.

  9. A newspaper is a one-to-many relationship, its a broadcast. Social networks are TWO-WAY. Its a VERY different thing, which is why different rules should apply. We are well on our way to passive, machine-driven, default internet censorship and its ugly.

  10. AT&T is a private company too, we still dictated free speech terms to it by force. Once you reach a certain threshold of users, common carrier rules should apply.

Ubiquity and cheaper costs are just as important as raw innovation (not saying rocket flight will be ubiquitous or cheap, most humans will die in the gravity well they are born on). You can still do a ton of Information Age stuff with cheap(er) rockets.

  14. My KODI box is independent and only streams local stuff. Its a vault of stability and security in an ever changing software landscape. No logins, it just works. No thanks Plex. Full disclaimer: I have a lifetime sub to Plex, still dont want my Plex players to co-mingle with my KODI players.

    They added one in the latest version, but its not something they really want to support. We are in an era now where features are actively held back because of the fear idiots might access them, raising support costs.

    You cant even write to a TEXT FILE on Android without downloading an app from the store, with all its could features and telemetry...Android still doesnt have a file manager that Google is willing to show to users (its hidden). They tried removing the ability to read/write ext3/4 on Chrome...Google is the new MS.
