    Most of the money making schemes i see are trying to insert themselves between people for profit. Pretty much the antithesis of what should be happening in an Information Age.

    I dont think Jobs would have allowed 20 versions of the watch which mostly amount to changing the band and build materials. It would have been one to three watches with no ridiculous $17,000 top end.

    The difference is i use actual math. I have several servers that are part of the household load just like the fridge or heater. I use Kill-A-Watts to measure the loads, calculate using my actual bills, you know showing my work... I can show you how my electricity load has gone down over the last 5 years, even as I add more computers to the network. I get what you are saying, but i cant change my costs, i can only change the load.

    The ONE advantage to living in a very high electricity cost area ($.21/kWh, total bill divided by kWh), i love being able to replace hardware and justify it with electricity savings.

    Almost all wifi radios can act as an AP. It was part of the standard for Ad-hoc networking, which has been gutted in modern implementations. I really hate that all the tech companies decided Ad-hoc was a threat to revenue and dont expose it in the UI.

    99.9% of people do not need to be lawyers to understand the law. Lawyers are supposed to be for nuance and unintended consequences, not for basic interpretation. Never forget that the ultimate test of any law lies with a jury..

    As a citizen, yes it is your place to expose it. When did we get to the point where you wont even QUESTION authority? In this case the NSA was UNQUESTIONABLY wrong and it needed to be made public. Also, nuclear bombs are relatively trivial to design, there are few actual secrets. You take two chunks of refined material and smash them together at high speed. The hard part is getting the refined fissionable material.

    My feeling is this, our government has compromised national security by acting in ways that are blatantly wrong. IF the government wasnt involved in incredibly dubious shit, i would be more sympathetic. The fact is our government is frantically trying to be able to tap everything, and that needed to be exposed.

    This is why i refuse to use/buy the windows 8 apps. They are like weird alien programs on a machine im used to executing anything i want. IF I have the exe, it should run, logins be damned.

    Yeah i have given up on Apple as a workstation. My 2011 Mac mini is slowly turning from a Unix-alike workstation to a very fancy ipad.

    You are using de-humanization to drive your point. I am an equal human to you. You have no right to force stuff into my body as we are equals. You may not like my position, but you havee to respect my right to that position or we will come to blows. You have no right to ask this, and i will fight you to the death if you try. There are limits to how far government can limit Liberty for Safety.

    Germs i may or may not get.... You have no right to force people into your idea of safety on the chance i might become a carrier. As i said im all for immunizations, i just realize that forcing it is VERY wrong.

    Vaccination without consent is an assault. There is NO OTHER way to describe it. Its pure, full on tyranny of the masses. I like vaccinations, but i love Liberty more.
