Spot on! I don't know that Second Life does much of ANY marketing. We hear most about Second Life though the media. Case in point, my 65 year old father called me up on the phone to tell me about a news report he had seen moments prior on TV about a game [Second Life] in which you can setup shop and sell virtual goods.
Not sure if anyone pointed this out but there is a port of the old Telengard to PC which can be downloaded for free. Here is the link.

Regards!
XNA Express is currently here, yes. But can you distribute a game with it? Not really. With an XNA developer account on the XBox 360 you can load in your XNA project and play it. The only way ANYONE else can play your "masterpiece", is to also have an XNA developer account.
They are working a Pro version which will allow for simple distribution path(s) but that is NOT here and NOT now.
From the blurb here in Slashdot.
has resulted in fundamental changes to the game's design. First, why is this even a news item?
Second, I am sorry, but user names on rooms in the network display is NOT a "fundamental change to the game's design." As a matter of fact it is not part of the game design at all! It is a UI enhancement. Really, it should be a basic UI element.
I think you are missing the fact that this is an Alpha. The actual shipping product will likely not be out until 2008! By then we will have had Vista out for over a year, and we will likely be looking at at least one additional versioning of OSX.

Once again we are presented with an untrue sensational news title that is quickly debunked within the first few sentences of the actual article.
When did SlashDot Games become a WOW fan site? Are we going to start hearing about every WOW update each week?
This is just a waste of space and time. Stop posting about dumb crap like this!
