You can just compile wine. You dont need it to be sold by corssover first. PPC is not he *only* hardware I own, its the only Apple hardware I own. I also own ix86, ix86_64, and Sparc. The reason Wine is faster is because it is not emulation, in fact wine is sometimes faster than Windows apps running on Windows XP. Its impossible for a VM to compare to that because VMWare will pass instructions directly to the real hardware underneath it still has the overhead of actually loading its own OS and Drivers in the VM. If you mean however "faster" not by how much of an impact it has on your system but just by user expirence then you may find all of them run Notepad with no signifiant slow downs. When you run more intensive tasks your milage may vary..
Wine has stability problems. (unless "guest" apps are recompiled.) VMWare (workstation) and Paralles are only arround 80% native speed. Xen requires modifications to the host. (and was Unix on Unix only till recently) Boches very neat project can provide ix86 on just about any arch, but its slow. (and the nameless other stuff I wont get into, QEMU, Virtual PC etc)
In many cases this would be the wrong aproach because if you want to provide applications to users a better aproach may be.. Citrix, X11, Terminal Server, or just write your apps in Java.
Like I said originally, I use VMware to do development and prototyping, so being able to copy snapshots and send them to other people via VMWare Player is a huge benifit and I am excited about it running on Mac's now.

You cant sorta have freedom of speech. The amendment is there specifically for when people will get hurt feeling or when speach is controversial or political.. If you were saying only nice things.. Why else would you need an amendment defending this right? Its useless if its limited.
Same thing with the 4th amendment, its not you have privacy *some* of the time. Its ALL the time. Government needs a warrant to look at anything you own. Your house, your postal mail, your phone conversation, your gym locker, your e-mail. Its doesn't matter if your best friends with the uni-bomber... if your a US citizen they need a warrant.. and we must demand that they get one.
The Constitution IS the HIGHEST law of this land, when Government finds "ways around it" or "exceptions" they are breaking the law and the restrictions the people put on them.. and it its not out of date, it means exactly what it says, we know what they were thinking because they wrote it down.

This is like saying its ok to read postal mail so long as you do it in the post office. It is clearly against the 4th Amendment.. don't gloss over, read it.

Well.. you don't need NX to do ASLR as you said and you don't need it to do it effectively either. Both Linux with PAX and OpenBSD with W^X can do it on i386 hardware that doesn't even have a NX bit. OpenBSD has had this feature standard for quite some time now. Linux still requires a special patch to kernel source for it as GrSec will probably never be included into the Kernel Source. (However some Linux distributions do included it by default.)

That does not sit well with me at all for one basic reason, I'm being forced to have someone else balance my check book for me. Whatever my skill at math or my random luck may be... If I make $20 of wealth today, I want to have that same $20 of wealth in 50 years. This current system does not allow for that, and unlike The Fed (supposedly), that I am forced to support, I'm not responsible for all of business or all of the prosperity of the people of America, I'm responsible for only my own.
I think that the aspect of controlling and regulating wealth itself is wrong and the Fractional Reserve Banking System itself can not work indefinably, because even though there is no finite amount of money there is a finite amount of wealth.
Well lets see here.. you could go look and see who owns the national debt.. because MOST of it is the Federal Reserve. Why is that? Because when America needs money for say.. a war.. we ask the Fed for a loan for full face value + interest + the printing cost. We could just have congress print the money as it states in the constitution and as we have done before. Both devalue the dollar but only one puts the government in debt.
Why would we make debt when we don't have to? This system does not work out in the American peoples favor.

Imagine how great Microsoft could be if they were concerned with making one really great desktop OS and one really great office suite.. and imagine how rich they might be if they only did that? But Microsoft dosnt do that.. they need to take over..

Only reason I havnt used it is its a newer nich product for only macs, and I still own PPC hardware.
And if you want to REALLY get down to it. Wine is faster than both.
I dont know about Parallels as I have never used it but VMWare is leaps and bounds ahead of other products out there. (Virtual PC)
