    Gotta wake up people. Our constution is basicaly shreadded, Federal goverment now does what it wants without concern for the people. Democrats in the recent 100 hours of congress in an attempt to push bills through without the pesky public reviewing them. This show they can be a cavileer with our liberity as Republicans.

    Our Goverment clearly no longer respects the people, they need to understand there power comes from us. If you love liberity please start supporting groups like DownsizeDC.org ..also noticed that all the anti bush comments get +4 or +5 ....shows where the /. community is..

    Apple "Switched" not because Intel was faster or better or had a "better roadmap" as they claim. It's because IBM couldnt get the heat down on the chips. They had no G5 PowerBook and the towers had to be made like giant wind tunnles.

    IBM just couldnt make a cool + powerful chip like Intel could.. but.. that looks like thats in the past now..

    You might ask José Padilla.

    If you are charged with a crime you have the 5th and 6th and 7th amendments because your rights are in jeopardy and need extra protection. If you are found guilty you have the 8th amendment to grant you a fair, just, and humane sentence.

    The answer is, yes they are still citizens and still have rights.

    I don't like this because I think it has the potential for massive abuse. They also can use it to cross reference consumer databases and also look up information past offences. You should not be charged with crimes based solely on the fact that you have plead guilty before, sometimes people plead guilty for crimes they don't commit.

    Imagine if you forget to pay Geico one morning you could have your RFID license flagged and be arrested on your way to work for not having insurance.

    Also they say association ? does that mean your gang?

    This is not a good thing.

    Google is a private companey. They pay for there own systems that they allow you to use. Why on earth should you be able to tell google what it can do with its own system?

    If they want to put a big huge pucture of Rush Limbaughs ass up there they may do so, and you can not make them change it. There customers will leave but the ass shal' remain. This is a cultural problem.. You cant marry queers, you cant smoke this or that, you cant drink at these times. Why? It's like people are nosey little old ladies, saying "Ohh dear.. you cant do that.. that would be wrong."

    If you like something better use it and shut up.. I'll be using Google.

    AT&T Wireless (now Cingular) is going to be in this merger as well. So Cingular phased out the AT&T Wireless name and Created Cingular. Now they are expected to return to the AT&T name as "AT&T Cingular, AT&T Mobile, or just AT&T"

    Yeah, I like conspiracy theories, as a hobby or say fictional reading, but the 9/11 one (IE that America did it) is kind of weak. My biggest reason is.. if we wanted to attack our own people.. why couldn't we just hire terrorists to fly planes into buildings? Make 9/11 "as seen on TV" with different puppeteers pulling the strings..

    Things still could have happned phisicaly exactally like the offical story and it can *still* be a conspiracy. Since the people proposing the conspiracy can't grasp that, I dont believe in any of em.

    I think it is quite clear that Airports can require any type of check or search they want, because they can set the rules required to board there airplane. Much like a private club can search you when you enter, and kick you out if you are drunk. (I'm always drunk on planes because I hate flying.. I hope they don't start kicking people out mid air.. here is your parachute sir.. haha.) It has no government involvement, these rules are enforced by the industry and a privacy concern is not a threat because all it would mean is you cant fly, instead of going to jail as a terrorist. However they can not allow the government to help them at all. That is a violation of your privacy that IS protected by law.

    Majority opinions are supported by the majority and are thus automatically correct and only correct opinions should be tolerated. Only the majority should have opinions!     I support this but, Can you fix your statement however?

    Slashdot does not have to provide people freedom of speech and you have no "right" to use there services at all. You have no right to use Slashdots property, they allow you to, they grant you a privilege of posting that they may rightfully take away any time they choose.

    Again I support your idea for fair comments, so don't let it bother you that you got it wrong, this type of misunderstanding is all too common in publicly educated America.. Please view the online videos of Michael Badnarik's Constitution Class, to learn what a right is and what is a privilege.

    I think we need something like a Bill of Rights in this country, something that ensures the freedom of the people to question the government and to speak out when things are wrong. Something that allows us to defend ourselves from danger. Something that ensures our privacy and property all the time and makes sure that our rights do not disappear if we are "charged" with a crime, and we are treated fairly before trial.. yeah... that would be nice to have. Too bad we live in The United Police States of America

    All I want for Christmas are my Constitutional rights.

    If your smart and you wana run on the cheep, IBM + RHEL will do it, all on cheeper hardware. Cant afford that? get this.. I met a large, million customer, comunications industry player that runs critical services on friggen Fedora.. hehe. Others have done it with Debian.

    (..and don't try to sell me that TCO nonesence for a Unix shop with Unix staff. Linux *IS* free to them.)

    I can compare Virtual PC to VMWare all day. I just prefer not to. lol

    However that is not as absurd as it sounds because both of them actually do run on Windows on Intel hardware emulating Intel hardware so the comparison is revelent on the preformance of the guest OS. There is not anything "magic" about the Intel Mac platform vs a Intel Windows vs Intel Unix platform. Its just an OS.. Last count I think I've used 50 or 60 OS's most are purty similar, espically at the low level that virtulasation is done..

    And... if your going to hammer me on little technical details to try to prove your little irevelent point that Parallels is your faverote VM to run Internet Explorer in, I'm going to hammer you back. You are a total idiot because you very well can run Virtual PC on an Intel Mac.. no problem. Boot Windows XP on your Intel Mac and launch Virtual PC. tada! Or.. did you mean MacOS X? Yes, well.. there is no real big technical reason why Virtual PC can't suppot Intel Mac's. Microsoft just wont do it.
