If they tracked it to an IP (gee, 10.25.7.8.9 has registered 1400 accounts today!), now that I can see.
Now that would be clever appart from the fact that these guys have botnets and therefore thousands of ips to use when creating accounts.
Call me insane but I think the only long term solution we will ever find is manual moderation of account creation.
The alternative would be creating a more restricted relation between ip and computer. That way the ip user could be held responsible OR made aware of his/her malware problem.
To be honest there really isn't any content on citizendium. The concept is great...but they should concentrate on quickly copying as much as possible from wikipedia...coz until they do that noones gonna think "hey, I'll look that up on citizendium"!
Also the name is too hard to spell...and not that catchy in my opinion.
Yea this surprised med too - microsoft making something in flash..who would have though that..
Meh, they probably have 1 team who are making silverlight thinking "OMG this kicks ass" and another team of webdesigners who like all other sane webdesigners don't want to use silverlight...probably because they like me dunno how to use it...
Why has this been tagged "kissramgoodby"?
Presumably regardless of which model for storing favorites/passwords/sessions, when the browser is actually opened it goes in the RAM anyway? I don't see the meaning of that...
That would be stupid. I don't think "myminicity" are the people who are causing this...its just a friggn user on that page who is spamming the links...to improve his own "city" (i googled it, just to prevent giving him the bonus hit)
If you have something to say...write an email. Otherwise don't...it might count the opposite direction of what you thought it would.
The problem is that the domain farmers make money from owning the domain name...through Google adsense for domains. (see http://www.google.com/domainpark/), which gives a positive expected return to the person who owns more domain names.
Even if the dilemma was zero-sum I still wouldn't agree with the way this works - if an investor buys a property he will sell it to you a year later...perhaps around double the price, if you are seriously unlucky. When a bulk-registrar registers a domain name for 10$ or whatever, he'll try to charge you something along the lines of 1000 times that amount if you try to buy it back.
The is free-market gone very very bad. In my opinion.
Especially for the solid state drives which apparently are the future?
Don't give Micro$oft a reason to encrypt data one more place in our computers:-(
When I first started using the GIMP i despised it's interface, however MANY elements of it (combined with the focus on keyboard shortcuts) mean that I can work at a much faster pace now that I've "mastered" it.
The minimalistic interface approach is actually a great way to get productivity - thats why I've removed my back / forward/newtab buttons from my firefox interface and assigned the actions to my extra mousebuttons - it forced me to start using the shortcuts which now make me surf faster.
Yep some better way to browse and rate the music would be great, especially considering the amount of low quality electro stuff there is (pardon the expression). Thanks for the recommendations as well, I'll look into some of that (already know and LOVE HYPE;))
I strongly recommend jamendo.com...there is a lot of good music (especially if you are a electronica/indie sound rock fan
Its all 100% freely downloadable from.torrent or emule, and usually covered by some kind of permissive license (making it free beer and freedom).
The site was started by french people so a lot of the music is from french bands, however lately stuff is being submitted by people from all over the world.
A couple of good picks from jamendo: SGX - Synesthetic, White Light Riot - Atomism and of course the widely famous t r y ^ d.
Check it out!
LenE has misunderstood it. The bug is a joint venture from firefox and safari, but firefox alone is not vulnerable to this. RTFA
How about adding a nominal anti-spam fee of 0.1$ to hotmail, gmail, ymail etc?
Presumably then using these adresses to spam becomes to expensive impossible?

The $ indicates that the 10,000 dollars is a php variable.
He's probably thought of a new project which more closely resembles his thought about where wikipedia should be going:
...or something along those lines.
A Pharmacy Articles Directory written by experts with links to loads of cool "partners" on the internet.
Go to mr. Wales' blog, scroll right to the bottom and press the "powered by wordpress" link.
:P
I get "therightpills.com" (tested on 2 computers, so i doubt its adware). Has the self proclaimed dictator of history been hacked?

Haha, yea of course I'm sure :)
I can't seem to find this "advice" anywhere on their page...(using safari (win) of course)
Anyone care to lend a link?
Haha no you're wrong, gamers/geeks are totally the most sensitive people on the planet ...since when was this an issue :)
What you should probably understand is that there is a distinct difference between "gays" and gheyz".
:)
Gay means homosexual. Ghey according to urbandictionary.com:
"Usurping the traditional term GAY to take the homosexual meaning out and leaving in the lame."
This fact has also been explored in purepwnage (purepwnage.com) and ctrl-alt-del (www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/)

For the first time ever I'm actually proud of being from denmark...way to go tele2!
I'm logged in FF2/XP (not that that makes a difference) and I'm seeing the same thing...
wierd oO

presumably they wouldn't want spy planes that run out of juice and give their technology to the enemy every time the sun dissappears... :P

Technically...its NOT a zero-sum game.

Wouldn't that slow down the drive quite a bit?

Now that actually was funny
If for one welcome our new dog overlords...

Or how about:
Now imagine a beowulf cluster of them...
At least I think I'm funny
I highly agree.

wikipedia, the source of all knowledge doesn't mention anything about that, no
