PSC is an interesting place at UPS...first of all, that package is far from the worst i've seen. Frequently, people drop 21" monitors down drops of 5 feet because they don't fit on the belt, needless to say, these don't get very far. Another popular thing that people break is guitars...a box of 3 guitars makes a lot of noise when all of the necks break at the same time. The main policy there is to just put as much tape on it as you can and just send it on. Don't be surprised if you find a box without everything that was supposed to be in it, if it opens up, and what fell out isn't in the immediate area, or the person taping is just lazy, well, that's not going to get back into the box.
People aren't as intellegent as you.

That is a very intellegent outlook on the situation, however, as seen in florida, most people couldn't even discern between two different opponents, how can we expect these people to operate a computer and vote intellegently. I think that our big effort would be to get the voters informed on all issues, not just crowding the television with the presidential debates, but informing people with information on local candidates, giving more than one little paragraph about them. And you can vote from home...absentee ballots, they're a good idea, you can give yourself time to make an informed decision and you don't even have to leave the house.
I don't think the issue is that the lawmakers are disrespecting the constitution, it's that they're upholding it just because it's the constitution, not because it makes total sense, which some of it does, however it is quite outdated. if there was an amendment about video games being available to everyone no matter the realism and gore and blood, they would defend it till the day they are voted out of office. they only want to be able to say that they defended the constitution whenever they could, and put down the videogames, which is what the voting parents want to hear. well, the politicians have to realize now that those people who first grew up with those violent and horrific games are now voting *gasp*, i was 13 when i first played doom 2...it was a fun game, i wasn't playing it because i could see blood everywhere, i'll watch ER if i want to see excess blood. the point is games are fun, and anyone with an open mind can see that. i think that the internet is a great thing that everyone can use to help expand thier knowledge on whatever they want, they just play games to be entertained. On a side note...i would still guess that the majority of games such as quake3 and UT are still bought through chains such as EB, compUSA, and bestbuy...should they be shut down because they're providing the games to youths? of course not, they're filing the politicians campaign fund
There are always times of resurgence in Politics, take america for example. Europeans began flooding america because of political reasons, and people became interested in politics because the politicians and the great thinkers of the time were inspired, brilliant, and inspiring people. Take Ben Franklin, John Locke, even Robspierre found ways to inspire people. At the time of the american revolution, people wanted to be involved, they wanted to know what was going on. Another example can be seen with JFK. He was an inspired leader, and was able to connect with the populace. The problem with politics is that none of the leaders are as charasmatic as before, and no one is going to bother paying attention to a boring leader who is bringing up the same old boring topics with the same old boring dance around a solution. I feel that politics will resurge and be reborn once another great leader comes about, not afraid to hide behind his reputation, and worried if he will be voted out of office, and will do something truly great for our country.
does using microsoft internet connection sharing qualify as a vpn...because i'm planning on switching on over to att@home because i just can't stand the shoddy adsl service ameritech provides in my area.
I play muds religously now, and i think that one of the reasons that people aren't into new games like they used to is because the simplicity of all text allowed for a complex and intreging gameplay, and when you couple that with a large multiplayer element, you just can't match up to any 3d game out now...not even diablo2, even tho that game does rock..
I see people referring to this as costing a few cents, but we can't fool ourselves...a $16 cd with 16 songs on it....the monopolistic pigs are gonna charge $1 per song, no ifs ands or buts about it. i'm gonna continue to use the opennap networks, and support the artits i like by buying their cd's if they're not ridiculously overpriced and going to their concerts.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i didn't see a single thing on the website that mentioned Thufir Hawat, i want to know if they just haven't cast him yet, or are discluding him, which would be wrong because he is essential.
No one wants to hear about people's addictions to smut, if they want a story about that, they go see 8mm and then feel very disturbed about it. Censorship of porno in the US has been an uphill battle and one that i don't think will ever be won, because there's always going to be that open-minded person who will argue a valid point, and they're going to be up against someone who grew up learning that porn is bad, or they were molested by some sicko that was one of the porno addicts, so it's just a viscious cycle and we need to invest more money in important stuff, like getting the sickos psyciatric help.
With all the censorship that's going on (attempted anyways) it's a wonder why lots of politicians aren't saying that the internet is out of hand and should be regulated totally...oh wait, the big comapanies that make it a frontier are putting money in their pockets. If those damn companies weren't so concerned with making money, there would be no market for smut on the internet, and it would be a lot cleaner of a place, if you want porn, you can go buy a playboy.
Well, there's so much smut on the internet anyways, it's like real life, if you look hard enough you can find plenty, people just don't advertise as much because you can do it anonymously on the internet. It's no wonder they went broke, you can't censor people's sexual urges and whatnot.
well, they're finally here, but one question, are they gonna only release a few like intel, and only sell them to big manufactureres, or are they going to release them to OEM's so everyone can buy just the chip?
i've been reading a lot about what's goin on in the US about the DeCSS, but what's being done in other countries such as norway in the courts adn whatnot?
yes, the raite dvd player is a very nice choice, however, if you go to purchase this, be sure to make sure you get one for region 1, they're made in taiwan, and are mostly sold to china. also to note, the generation 4 standards for dvd players should include the ability to play mp3's
i'm currently engulfed in this book for the first time, and i'm probably going to go finish it after this, but i realized one thing. the personalities of all of the children in the book are that of adults, how are kids going to be able to assume the roles?
