More like they released 4.0 and are surprised that people assumed it would be stable. If they hadn't the bugfix process wouldn't have been as quick, this is how FOSS development works. One cannot expect FOSS development to be like properietary development and then get disappointed by the differences.
I'm sure a lot of stock holders would argue with that. I'm sure because they do, otherwise you would have already seen a difference. Alternative energy is costly, and cost is the nemesis of any business.
Well it's not about files and folders in general. It's more about how application files are placed on different locations instead of one particular folder. Of course I'm not referring to all files, the bins should still go under e.g./usr/bin but we all know how some applications prefer certain locations and others on other locations. There should be a more "official" standard to this. It wouldn't disallow any application to place itself wherever it pleases, but it would ease the user experience by having a majority of application files collected under the same tree. I see no harm come out of this.
What are you saying here? That the person would mistakenly buy iPwn? Or that the person changes his mind and buys the iPwn due to whatever reason? If you mean the first scenario that I don't buy that for one second. You can't demand that people should be protected from idiocy. If I'm looking for a brand which a) I don't know what it looks like, and b) I don't know what it's called, I will damn sure make enough research (2 whole minutes of painful searching on google/wikipedia or whatever site) before I click buy. You can't protect everybody. People have to meet a certain standard to be protected and this standard isn't much to ask for, such as being able to read. If you're talking about the second scenario I see no reason why it's wrong. Sure Apple paid a lot of money to advertise their products, and that's what they did. They advertised their products. Either you try to protect anything that's even remotely related to iPhone, or you inform people that just because it says iSomething it doesn't make it the same product. After that it's up to each person to either don't give a fuck and buy the wrong product, or listen up and learn. Stop wiping peoples asses. I know they tell you that they can't do it themselves but they're lying.
Of course there will be a slight bias, the question is what it will lead to. Sometimes it leads to further studies due to unsatisfactory results, and sometimes it leads to false data. As long as one doesn't temper with the results the proper conclusion can be made by anybody.
A lot has changed since then and even the term scientist as well. There are however still biased scientists today as there were back then, scientists whom receive their paychecks from tobacco companies to supply data that brings doubt to lung diseases caused by smoking tobacco. Still to gain the acceptance of the majority of scientists today should not be taken lightly, as it is not an easy task.
I'm not a global climate change denier. There is definitely something going on. Whether it is caused by humans or not, it doesn't really seem to matter. Let's focus on making this place a nice place to live. Clean air, clean water, clean land. These are things no one is going to argue with. Let's start making this a better world for you and for me.
I see where you're coming from but nonetheless it kind of does matter. If it's caused by us then we need to change our ways in order to make this place a nice place to live. How are you going to justify to people that they need to change if you cannot prove that they're doing something wrong?
My point is that if you're looking to play around then I presume (correct me if I'm wrong) that you're not interested in cutting down a tree, carving out a board and pieces, painting them and then play chess. If you're looking to play around you can try Ubuntu. I'll let you in on a secret, although some Linux-nazis will tell you that Ubuntu is worthless most of us understand the need for it and don't think it's bad at all, rather the contrary. Remember that all dists fit different audiences, and that the Linux-nazi and you are not in the same. I'll end my post with a famous quote:
Don't go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to
I know that you're gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you're moving too fast
I think a joint report of many individuals reviewing for personal gain will produce less biased information than a company reviewing for economical gain. Everyone is biased, in one degree or another, and by combining enough biased information from independent peers you will compile an unbiased report. It's when the peers unite to intentionally shift the results that you'll see false data.
You replied to a comment and write "Linux users". I don't know what language you speak but in English this is called stereotyping since that comment does not reflect all Linux users. And about your car analogy the same rule applies. You can't assume that all Toyota owners act a certain way simply because one did.
Wait a second here. You can't have both. Either you dumb down the OS or you smarten people up. It's that simple. You want people to wipe their own asses? Then quit wiping it for them.
Yeah you're not stereotyping at all. You're right, Linux propagation is not about "improving the world's computer safety". Life is not a comic book and we're not IT vigilantes looking to fight the unjust. I'll let you in on a secret, we all use Linux for various reasons. Some because of the copyleft, some because it's free of charge, some because once it's yours it's actually yours and not on lease and others for many other reasons. For me it's more about the terms. I mainly dislike Windows or OS X due to the terms. These terms are strictly due to the policies of each company producing the OSs, thus it is not the software itself but e.g. MS and Apple that make me not want to use it. There are of course other aspects but I believe that they are merely a product of the terms, and that if the terms would change so would these, such as interoperability and freedom of choice rather than dependency.
We are even looking into making 3D models of cows to save farmers spending thousands of dollars transporting their cattle vast distances to auction sites, allowing for an eBay style auction website for cattle.
-So... you spent the last 8 years of your life to develop a 3D generator so that one day you may help farmers model their cows instead of spending thousands(!!!) of dollars on transfering them for auction? -Yes. -OK, just checking.

...psychological symptoms as depression, antisocial behavior, and slipping grades.
I'd say science, because I've never heard of slipping grades as a psychological symptom.
Pictures are fine, but they can't be substituted for driving it and feeling how it rides, weird noises and so forth.
I know it's an analogy, but I can't help feeling deeply disturbed.
Shhhh!!! Don't spoil the ending!
environmental catastrophe
What do I win?
Haven't you ever heard the phrase "No news is good news"?
"Where do you want to blow today?"
Don't go chasing waterfalls

Obviously, sorry I don't know how I didn't see that.
I'm feeling kind today.

Then, which free linux flavour is fun these days?
then don't even think about this:
Does Gentoo still have a decent live CD?
Security is not hard people...

My grandma isn't bionic yet, but we're working on it.
I would have expected
0101 0101
which is "U"
But... why? It's not like U nor u makes sense. Seems pretty random to me.

Never, but for some reason elephants constantly step on my phones. But we'll show them, won't we Land Rover?
