You don't have to jailbreak to get any of the functionality you listed. There are several ssh apps in the app store as well as apps for everything you listed.
I'm using a desktop that I recently built with a Core i3-530 and the built-in graphics are quite acceptable, even at 1600x900(the monitor was free so I won't complain about the odd resolution). The only place they suffer is in high-performance areas like games. The IGP is designed to process Full HD video.
Because the time isn't actually known. If Camera A records a vehicle at 16:41:38, according to its own, clock and Camera B records the vehicle exactly 1 mile later at 16:42:35, according to its own clock, the vehicle seems to be traveling at a certain speed that is not known to the driver. What if the vehicle was actually driving at 60mph? What if Camera A's clock is fast and getting faster or Camera B's clock is slowing down? By using a satellite to provide the time, all cameras have the same time and that time becomes known.
From the Handbrake website - "HandBrake is not a ripper. It converts video, it does not rip it byte by byte. It does not crack the latest DVD copy protection schemes hatched by the studios.
It converts video from nearly any format to a handful of modern ones—that's it. "
- If you leave the Windows 7 starter, you'll need to shell out for Antivirus, etc. But Ubuntu Netbook Remix (or even Ubuntu, Mint, etc) run great on it.
You are being disingenuous. There are many free anti-virus programs(even from Microsoft) that are as good or better than paid programs.
Their selection may be limited compared to other companies and more expensive but they really do offer a variety of products. If you disagree, what do you mean by variety then?
I wasn't saying I wanted to live off of it, I was just saying that had I needed to be on unemployment I wouldn't have even been able to pay rent, even if I didn't spend any of it on other needs like water or food.
Most ATMs don't have deposit capabilities but a significant number actually do. It is quite convenient, especially when you arrive just after the bank closed.
What's wrong with accepting a small amount of mercury that I'll probably never be exposed to over guaranteeing that a large amount of will enter the environment?
There's nothing wrong with assuming/guessing if done properly. You assume things all the time without even realizing it. You assume things to keep things from becoming needlessly complex.

It costs a lot more than $3 to develop a roll of medium-format film.
Having never been in that position, I don't know.
I've found that low-income folks tend to carry $100s mostly because they can't get a bank account or credit card.
Don't forget to multiply by the number of counterfeiters!
Actually, VLC is not required to run Handbrake. VLC is what does the ripping.

They are already in space. They are just adding GPS receivers to the cameras to synchronize the times.

I don't know what you mean.
I think you missed the part where it said,"...available for free on the Internet..." Anybody can get the program.
An apology? On my internet?

The way it works is:
1. Everything is great
2. Someone makes an undesireable change
3. The market fixes it
Step 3 has only just begun. It takes a little time.

Maybe it shouldn't be different but it is and that's how many people like it.
That's nice but not everyone has Cabelvision.
The F-35 can't replace the F-22. They serve different roles.

That's awesome. Had I been without a job long enough, I would have only gotten $120/week and only for a couple months.

You cheated. CRTs at 60Hz are pretty obvious. Try it with a common LCD at 60Hz. It looks much better.
