Free/Illegal music is still more often in MP3 or better formats. What the pirates use will determine the industry standard, not Apple. As members of the Internet, we fail to realize how little the masses even care or know about this crap.

No one said Serenity has had a larger cultural impact, Star Wars undoubtedly has. I'm a big star Wars fan but I can see why Serenity beat SW, it has more to do with Firefly than it does Serenity. The movie wasn't bad by any means, but the series was incredible. Since the show wasn't on there people's love of Firefly just happens to spill over into Serenity love.

Graphically it's awesome?? No way, that game looks terrible. It's in the middle of EQ and EQII (which looks terrible). It should not take 2GB of RAM to run Vanguard. I'm playing an infinitely better looking MMO right now and it runs great with just 1GB. The characters also don't look like they were modelled and rendered in Poser.

I can't say anything about the gameplay of Vanguard but damn, it is an ugly game.

I don't really care about what the rest of the world, or even what the rest of America thinks. There are exactly two people I care about who think of what my penis in particular looks like. Again, mutilated is a blatantly loaded word. I think a "mutilated" penis looks better, and your "natural" ones look absurd.

I'd rather have it done at birth where I don't have to pay for it, where I won't remember it being done, where I don't have to ever worry about maintaining it and where I don't have to grow up with a gross looking wiener. While some people might want it, it's certainly less hassle to have it done at birth. It's a hassle to keep it maintained. And mutilation is a loaded word, so before you dismiss people dismissing it, try choosing your words better. I'm aware I used some subjective words here, but it's clear it's my opinion. And the reason herds of men won't rush to have it done when they're older has a lot less to do with wanting it kept that way than you're making it out. Getting it done would be potentially embarrassing (they might not even be comfortable asking about the procedure), maybe painful, certainly stressful, there will be downtime for the thing, and having had some surgery done on my penis, it's certainly not a pleasant experience. People don't want surgery, especially not on their penises.

  14. Oblivion didn't handle it wll at all. on Why Computer RPGs Waste Your Time · · Score: 1

"I think Oblivion handled this well, scaling the world as you went and giving you really interesting things to do from the get-go. What other games dodge this bullet? Do you see this timesink as an inevitable part of the RPG genre?" Oblivion kept the world the same no matter how far you went. If you didn't keep your combat skills up it got to difficult, if you did or if you were a mage, it was too easy. It's always the same. There's never anything interesting BECAUSE everything is scaled to you. You know what to expect in any given area. You will always find equipment for your "level" because the enemies are scaled to have that armour. Caves in Oblivion seem crafted quite well yet they are filled with nothing particularly useful. You will always find the same stuff in the caves until you level up a few times. One of the best parts about an RPG is exploring and finding areas that are too hard for you but might hold a great reward. Or even finding an area with some easy enemies you can thrash to take a break fro mthe real action. Oblivion totally devastates that with it's scaling system.

It's not some social etiquette to follow a subpeona, it's not a polite request. It's an order and you don't have a choice in the matter if you don't want to suffer the consequences. I personally don't like being told what to do unless it's by someone I respect. If the U.S. Government tells me to come to court and I don't think I have a reason to, I think I'm in the right to not go. It's not "rude" because them demanding I go somewhere regardless of my schedule and matters is equally, if not more "rude". The only thing it is, is against the law. "If you're invited to a large party of important people, even if you disagree with them, at least show up and have a few hors d'oevres." If you really don't want to go, you shouldn't have to. If there's no advantage to it and you know you dislike the people there, why go? "Standard etiquette and social grace"?? That's a waste of your time and life, don't bother.

  20. Re:This is typical political correctness on Columbine RPG Kickout Has Repercussions · · Score: 1

As you admit yourself, it can not be "morally right" because morals are subjective. If majority morals are the accepted moral standards, than any killing is immoral. Thus making all war, regardless of cause, when down to it immoral. "We" largely view WWII and it's outcomes as moral because "we" were the winners. Had the Nazis won, life would be different, maybe even better, but I'm willing to wager the war would still be morally right for those winners too.
