  1. This is actually on Alarm Raised On Teenage Hackers · · Score: 1

considered "news" I'm know this has been going on since BEFORE the internet was even available to the public. You know back when you had to dial into a BBS to communicate with other people... and swap files over a 1337 9600 bps modem

Just out of curiosity... do you have any kind USB boot enabled on the bios? I have occasionally had this problem with other USB attached storage.

Drobo would be an excellent choice... there are a few things you have to pay attention to about it though... It is yes $500 without ANY drives. If you have a drive you want to put in it that has data on it, that isn't going to work. Drobo formats the drive when you insert it. It will take any size drive up to 1 TB per slot(it has 4). It supposedly will take any manufacturer. The only thing that bugs me is that it's only USB right now. This would be extremely handy if it had firewire and/or ethernet.

  4. Re:First they came... on Microsoft and LG Electronics Sign Linux Covenant · · Score: 1

This could be a very long and drawn out battle... I don't know if anyone else liked the movie 300 but in a way it reminds me a bit of the Spartan rise against the Persians... the hard core Linux users will not buy into this crap. It defeats the purpose of Linux. Microsoft, like they always do, is trying to bully obviously inferior "greek nations" into submission. I for one will never bow down before anything Microsoft. Microsoft tries bluff their way into something, and if anyone in the proper position with a backbone could break this beasts back and send it home.

  5. This is ignorant... on Cisco VP Explains Lawsuit Against Apple · · Score: 2, Insightful

I haven't done a whole hell of a lot of research on this yet... isn't it ironic that Cisco released an "iPhone" 3 weeks before Jobs announced their "iPhone." Also if they had been negotiating... which they apparently have been... Cisco probably had some sort of general idea when Apple would want to use this name for their product, and then BAM the new Linksys iPhone... and did anyone ever question that instead of being the masters of patent trolling (which should be illegal) just wanted to be a stickler in the butt of Apple merely because they have been growing so well?
