  1. No. on RIAA Victim Wins Attorney's Fees · · Score: 0

Could this, in conjunction with cases such as Santangelo, show a turning of the tide against the RIAA?"
Was there really that much of a tide to be turned?

Without HD, I would be much more inclined to wait until it came out on DVD format.
I believe the sole fact of this service lacking HD will be a huge detraction simply because people spent a lot of money on their HD capable computers, they wouldnt want to see that go to waste.

  3. Seems like it might work on Google Apps to Become Paid Service · · Score: 0

There may be people claiming that Google Apps is only good enough for a freebie but you have to look at it from a consumer's point of view. I have had a lot of experience with trying to convert friends and employees to Linux, Open Office, etc... The conversation goes something like this: "Hey, you should try Ubuntu. It's very user-friendly and is a good replacement for Windows, I'll even help you set it up." "Oh, cool. How much?" "It's free, they'll even send you the CDs for you." "It's free?! What's the catch?" People that are not familiar with OSS and related goodies simply cannot get it through their head that just because it is free does not mean it is inferior. If Google Apps is charged a price significantly lower than Microsoft Office and has around the same productivity I am inclined to believe businesses will be even more interested in it.

Download times will vary depending on your actual Internet connection speed and the length of the video. With a fast broadband connection (5 Mbps), a movie can download in about an hour, while a 1-hour TV episode can download in about 30 minutes. However, on a slower broadband connection (less than 1 Mbps), a movie could take up to 5 hours. I don't know about you but I personally would not want to have to wait an hour to download a TV show. It seems like if you were that interested in the show you could simply record it when the episode first airs...

  7. Are you kidding? on 'Over 30' Section For Games Stores? · · Score: 1

It seems like it would be more likely for someone to act violent after playing three hours of a Sudoku game than it would be after that same amount of time playing, say, Quake.

Maybe Tom Selleck would be interested in the role. I am sure his contract with Magnum P.I. has expired.
