    Thats a huge number of last name out there even %0.1 is still thousands of kids leaving themselves open. I hardly think this is sufficient to claim that teens are protecting their info.

    For a while I had an old ham radio sitting on my desk(receive only) and when fiddling around with it at certain frequencies I would hear patterns of beeps and for a long time I wondered what these were and then I finally noticed that the beeps synced up perfectly with the activity LED on my router. Granted it would take a lot more then what I had to actually decipher any useful information from it.

    At what point did you think you had any expectation to privacy while outside? These airships as well as other UAVs that some cities are deploying are by the simple fact that they fly can only be used to monitor outdoor areas, which is less then even the London security cameras which despite built in measures could still be used to potentially spy through windows. Furthermore, You don't need to knee jerk and exclaim "1984!!" every time some government decides to exploit a new technology to help the local police forces.

    Looking at all these stories from companies like SCO and Microsoft it seems that they really are playing Whack-a-mole with the open source movement. It seems though that the moles are getting bigger and needing bigger hammers to whack. Sooner or later I think its just going to be too much for them to handle.

    Really come on I think we only need one locked/unlocked door analogy here people. And as for the guy it's pretty clear that he knew he was using a wireless network he didn't have permission to be on and I think he got what he deserved. Unfortunately this is opening the door for plenty of cases where it isn't so clean, I know I have plenty of trouble getting windows to not connect to the neighbors network even though I explicitly tell it to connect to my own.

    IIRC wasn't one of the UNIX design philosophies that if an application becomes unstable it should crash as quickly as possible and create as much noise and debugging output in the process(or something along those lines)? So going by that it would seem the MS Offices is doing the right thing and IS crashing and generating plenty of errors and debugging info in the process.

    I mean that the Jet Stream it self not the direction of the wind travels toward the equator meaning that you can't just tether something to the ground and have it stay in the stream. Although they do mention lower altitude high speed winds which may be sufficient in between jet streams to keep it in the air and producing power.

    They are stable in that there are always jet streams and they follow predictable patterns and don't suddenly drop off. Unfortunately they do move quite a bit. IIRC they tend to start at the poles and head toward the equator making them pretty much unusable for flying a big metal kite.

    and reduce memory loss to nothing more than a computer glitch Does this strike anyone else as a bit scary? I find it a bit uncomfortable to think that I could wake up one morning and my entire past existence has been erased because of some programming error. And they will happen we have plenty of hardware and software bugs already and this device will be no exception. I personally would not won't to be the person whose brain does a "BSOD" because of a mistake.

    This is just out of curiosity but where the hell did you find a program that NEEDS Windows Vista? I wouldn't think that it has even been around long enough for people to start developing applications on it much less making it a requirement.

    Stephen Hawking is a gimp who can't even go to the bathroom without help so what does he know? Actually now that I think about a lot of our supposed science revolutionaries seem rather dubious. - Einstein was a poor paten clerk who couldn't even progress beyond a junior position. - Newton came up with his ideas after being smashed in the head with an apple. - Franklin electrocuted himself plenty of times - Tesla died poor and penniless - Faraday was a bookbinder without any education at all. I think at this rate I'm on the road to becoming the next great scientist you should all give me the money and Nobel prize now to save yourself the trouble later. (I think it goes without saying that I'm joking.)

    How the hell is this censorship? the police are asking Google amongst others to share information about people who may be linked to mafia organizations. They were already blocking these sites as they appeared you realy might want to do a bit more research before you start having knee jerk reactions every time Google does something involving an authority. PS Supporters of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawood_IbrahimDawood_ Ibrahim are who they are interested in. Doesn't seem like a very nice guy PSS How fucking clean does Google have to be before you people will be happy? Really for god sakes get a hold of yourselves their a damn corporation they do have certain obligations to something other then the set of morales you seem to think they should have when you cant even maintain such a clean lifestyle.

    I believe what you're thinking about black holes Antimatter annihilates anything it touches along with itself in a 1:1 ratio releasing E=MC^2 amount of energy. PS I guess that makes using antimatter to remove a 1 lb tumor the equivalent of setting off a nuke then?

    No China blocks information from reaching their people. Google had 2 choices, cooperate with china or don't do business in China. Either way the Chinese people get screwed. My post was about Google shutting out sites on its own not being forced to by external forces.

    The problem with your idea is not that its a breach of agreement between Google and the company but a breach of trust between Google and me. We all know that Google had invested a significant amount of money in creating their search algorithms and up until today they have almost always returned good results. Now although there is no legal agreement if Google decides to start shutting out websites simply because of a disagreement between the two how do I know that the results I'm getting are really the most relavent sites? And furthermore Google is aware of this and so no they shouldn't and no they won't be shutting anybody out any time soon.

    Blender - just not enough market for another 3D app, which is why the commercial company sold it off to begin with. The nonstandard interface and workflow I personally would have to disagree with you on that the interface once yo get used to it is VERY intuitive and quick to use, granted I am by no means a big time 3D artist but I have taken part in a few small competitions and won them using Blender vs Kids who were using Maya, 3DS Max and Cinema 4D. Also the Blender community is very active and fairly large and the Dev team have been putting many new features into the program that it can now hold its own against the large $500 dollar programs. But that is just my opinion and you are more then entitled to yours.

    Here's a start: Linux needs to tuck the command line under the carpet. And then alienate the vast majority of people who do use Linux? And also you make references things that have got IT vs. thing that don't but you really don't give a hint to what IT actually is. but I'll tell you what IT is. IT when it comes to computer as with many other things is that it should just work. Now desktops like openSuse and Ubuntu have made big improvements in this area but are still far from being complete, heck even windows still hasn't got that right yet(They took sever steps back with Vista and HD.) So really next time next time you want to go make claims about some strange and mysterious IT instead try to think of what IT really is
