As interesting as I find the discussion, and by the way I believe Mathematics to be "discovered", the real question is, "why is it important?" It comes down to two truths. If Mathematics is invented, then the basis that it can be patented is rock-solid. Yikes! If Mathematics is discovered, then the basis for Intelligent Design is rock-solid. Yikes! Either way, the current chaos continues unabated.
I'd like these 3 questions answered together:
Invented or Discovered?
Patentable or No?
Intelligent Design or No?
I'll bet the subsequent statistics would be fascinating and enlightening.
