I agree, but this same legislation can also be used by groups to ensure that zero-evidence based hypotheses such as creationism and intelligent design aren't taught in science classes.
John T. Scopes and the ACLU fighting the Butler Act clearly aren't once off events - opposition needs a top-up every do often. It's too easy to become complacent and think "everything will be ok from now on".
Possibly, if it's an immediate change. However if you walk out of the room at 66.7 and 10 minutes later walk back in when it's 67, do you reckon you'll notice the difference? Did you get hit by a draft in the interim?
My living room has one radiator. I can guarantee that it varies be more than a fraction of a Fahrenheit, so a thermostat that is that precise is pointless.
I get plenty of articles for the Daily Mail & the Express, neither of which are exactly left wing. It's certainly not because of my browsing habits because if I ever darken either site I do it in Private Browsing.
2. Unplugging the network cable doesn't count as hacking.
It would in the UK. A man was prosecuted here for adding a couple of "../" to a URI, which then provided him access to the root file system. I'm trying to find a reference to it.
A ship will have four anchors so that you don't have 150m ships swinging around a single point. I have however seen small ships anchored in the Solent at the bow only, although that's a sheltered area. These anchors will also be - for all intensive purposes* - permanent. The anchors themselves are Suction Caissons (source), not stockless anchors.
Nuclear and fossil fuel plants are fire & forget - you just get them going and leave. Have you every seen anyone working in a power plant once it's been completed? Of course not...
The first time I can across an amp page I wondered what the hell was wrong - I got no comments and searching didn't work - so I tried to disable it, only to find out I want allowed to.
That's the problem, many apps insist on linking to amp content only even though I want the full fat version. It shows that Google realised this was a problem, seeing as they added a link option to Chrome on Android, rather than forcing us to jump through multiple hoops to view the actual content
I've never been likened to as a goddess. I've had UK border security agree that I looked like a thug in my passport photo*, but never a goddess - thank you for the confidence boost:-)
* A friend was driving another friend's car and she couldn't find the electric window button, so I passed him the 4 passports from the back seat. He saw us talking the piss out of the driver so realised we were up for a laugh. It wouldn't really suprise me. On one side we have daesh lunatics who want to start a convict between Muslims and non-Muslims. On the other side we have a crazy bunch of people that think "that's a really good idea".
Meanwhile the vast majority of the world are stuck in the middle saying "fuck no, leave us out of this"
I personally believe that that's their aim - to cause a divide between Muslims and non-Muslims.
Take the UK, we just had a Welsh bloke hire a van and drive it down to London to run over Muslims outside a mosque. It's highly likely that he got the idea from the recent attacks in London, which is somewhat ironic. Yet the same people who were [correctly] disgusted with Muslims celebrating terrorist attacks we sharing joke's about Ramavan van rental offers. It's turned into "them and us" and plays directly into the fanatics' hands.
Same goes for Egypt and Tunisia. Both countries relied hugely on tourism, which had now understandably decreased. The result is that there will be a generation who won't have an income and will be ripe pickings for terrorist indoctrination.
It's difficult to believe that this tactic works - surely they should see that their community is being ostracised (and even attacked) because of their "brethren" - but for some reason it does. I guess it's easier to blame strangers than the person who pretends to want to help (even though they're the ones that caused the problems in the first place).
Voicemail sermons, people actually feel like they need to proselytise callers?
That's another group of people I'd like to meet, just once, to get an insight into how they think. Along with flat-earthers, geocentrists, chemtrail conspiracy theorists and young-earth creationists, although I suspect if I meet one I've met them all.
Using the oracle of all which is correct, human body temperature is typically between 36.5 and 37.5 C. Interestingly enough you still need decimals to get that accurately in Fahrenheit.
You can cook meat to a 1 deg F accuracy? That's some amazing skill right there.
I know it was probably meant tongue in cheek, but "chickened out" is a little harsh.
For those not familiar with aviation, calculating takeoff performance is some fairly simple maths. If the data says you won't take off in the allotted space no amount of hope will help.
As others have mentioned, some data didn't go above about 50 C (122 F), so whilst a pilot could extrapolate takeoff performance, flying into the unknown probably doesn't make them happy (and is very likely to be illegal). In that case, I'd be happy to have my pilot chicken out!
Not going to argue as the GP probably misremembered. However temperature is measured as ambient air temperature, and in the shade.
A runway in direct sunlight is likely to heat the air above it, providing there's no wind continuously replacing the air mass. It'd be interesting to work out by how much.
I'm intrigued by "not precise enough", the difference is less than a factor of two. If precision is actually required then you'll be using decimals no matter what.

That's how you do real propaganda - none of that 140 characters or less shite.

It's interesting that you prefer Breitbart - Americans find it only slightly more credible than The Onion.
Thanks - I knew I read about it on The Register, but I couldn't figure out the keyword to find it the archive.
Which surely means that Amazon can't use the Washington Post losses to reduce their tax liability.

I now can't tell if that's a sarcastic response to my sarcastic comment. I now feel like I'm googling recursion!

If they start taking to each other then they going to start doing what traffic police do when they get bored - play snooker:
If your a pedestrian wearing red or black you should start worrying...

If they've got nothing to hide they've got nothing to fear...
In light of all the anti-privacy legislation that the UK government has been passing, I've got to wonder if somebody's making a point.
I'd like to see the result of a 110V fridge being plugged into a 230V socket. In reality it'd probably be a lot less impressive than I imagined.

The handy thing about that is that there are no similar numbers to muddle up as the units are so different.
I think the poster basically lives around the concept of Down with this sort of thing...
