When the US Supreme Court ruled flag burning constitutionally-protected free speech, one state (Mississippi, IIRC) had a creative solution. Since the state couldn't enforce any laws prohibiting burning the flag, they simply passed a law stating that the maxiumum penalty would be US$25 for assulting someone who was in the process of burining a flag.
And it says here it's also illegal to put squirrels down your pants for the purposes of gambling...

I blame the switching of Directors for the bad Batman films...
Micheal Keaton was smart to get out when Tim Burton did... I don't think Val Kilmer(?) really knew what he was getting into... and George Clooney(?) needed a job...

I firmly believe that the first Mortal Kombat is a *GREAT* videogame to movie adaption...
It introduces all the charaters quickly yet with some reguard to their game storylines.
It's not an award winning story, but neither was the game...
I had Seti running constantly for over 2 years... but there are a lot of other projects I'd like to help out on as well.
But neither one plays nice with the others.
While I wish there was some "master program" which these distributive projects could plug into fact is on a Wintel machine you can seemingly only run one to any benefit....
And if I gotta choose, I'll take fighting cancer..
Mounting a database as a filesystem???

Music Filesystems?

Didn't I see something on Slashdot once about someone getting a database to mount as a filesystem?? If the MP3's (or Oog's) could be stored in that database.... wouldn't it be the start of something useful???
Whatever it may be, old fs, new fs, database... how about a feature where you can assign a code or symbol or something that would allow it to find music that has some feature or charateristic as to what your currently listening to.
I like the idea of saying "Play Happy/Sad/Fast/Uplifting songs like <song>"
As another fan of Law & Order your post struck me with a thought (rare, but it happens..), how often does Law & Order get the "law" part of it wrong???
"you need to first understand that Slashdot is about to start accepting new ad formats. The large ads that you see on many other sites are coming here. We really don't have an option: these are what advertisers want, and if we don't provide them, we won't be around much longer."
Thank you!
:)
Does anyone know if NetFlix is available in Canada? I've tried searching the site to no answer yes or no...
And you call yourself a geek.....
Would ya look at that.... he's right!

Um... just asking this cause I really don't know... but what about Mac? Pre-OSX, of course...

Does it matter that the only reason I'm posting anything right now is becuase the boycott *IS* on??
Didn't think so...
Does that mean he'll explain why Kanada rides a bike into a wall???
Everytime I see Akira I'm always dumbfounded as to why......???
That's the most "American" thing I've heard in a very long time...
Ya know... I really don't think that's French...
Sorry if I offended you.... :-/
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! :-)

Can someone, ANYONE, tell me the name of the theme music?
:-)
Everytime I heard it I say: "I know that, what the hell is it?"
I'd really like to have an answer..
Perhaps, but I like my version better... :)
While I'm not sure about the "Stevebot", what I find a little more intresting is that he believes this was done to "bring bad press to the [...] iPod"
...um... I think it was to get Office fro free actually...
I believe Sega was the first with Analog on a console... with the controller that came with Nights....
