  1. ..early media coverage comes from the left... on Karl Rove's IT Guru Dies In Small Plane Crash · · Score: 1, Insightful

The author is obviously another right-wing nut who believes that the mainstream media has a "liberal" bias.
Oh and the evil little sh*t who crashed his plane helped many Republicans break Federal record keeping laws. That's a fact.
It's also probably the tip of the iceburg, wait a few years till the investigations get rolling and more Bush-Cheney crimes come to light.

Haven't you all seen Bush tell a reporter why he doesn't use email; "..it might be used in an investigation.."

I'm sure he was an indispensable TOOL for the Fascists who now run the Republican Party.

No decent American would morn his death.

  2. Speak up! on eBay To Disallow Checks and Money Orders In US · · Score: 1

Tell the greedy f@cks that you'll cancel your Ebay and Paypal accounts if they try to pull this crap.

  3. All geeks need to know about Palin .. on Sarah Palin's Stance On Technology Issues · · Score: 1

Fired a librarian who refused to ban books at Palin's request. The librarian got her job of many years back after the towns people made a fuss.

Wants creationism taught is public schools.

And this psycho could be the President?? WTF!
I wonder if her flesh will burn when she swears on a Bible to protect and defend the US Constitution.

  4. Re:Can't you turn this off on Linux? on Tracking a Specific Machine Anywhere On The Net · · Score: 1

Which start up script should I add this line to?
    Fedora Core 3

    Thanks!

" Can't you turn this off on Linux with
    echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_timestamps"

  5. Get New Music from professional reviewers... on Discovering New Music? · · Score: 1

I know a guy who makes a living listening to music and writing reviews and selling CD's. Buy guys like this and you'll get good music and they can stay in business so they can find you more great music.
    Check out www.backroadsmusic.com
Lloyd has a great ear for modern music, is real friendly and ships fast.

  6. They're watching everyhing on Slashback: Activism, VOIP, Ivies · · Score: 2

Only reason I can think of, better digital trail for surveillance.

  7. Portable with PCI slot... on Lunchbox Computers for Live Music Performances? · · Score: 1

Buy a Thinkpad T or A model with a docking station, which has a PCI slot. You can find these machines on Ebay direct from IBM at great prices. You'll have to hunt for a docking station for less than retail.

  8. Re:Quiet PC on Building Quieter Computers · · Score: 1

Oh yeah, if you are not already using a quality name-brand power supply, you should check out PCPower & Cooling and the EnerMax systems. They both make silent power supplies.

  9. Quiet PC on Building Quieter Computers · · Score: 1

Check out http://www.directron.com They have a SilentPC section with special coolers, drive enclosures and fans as well as soundproofing case liners. I'd recommend the BEST CPU heatsink you can find, like the ALPHA PAL6035MFC, and top it off with a silent Panaflow 6cm fan. Mine is cool and silent. Then work on reducing the sound of your case fans. Lastly and most expensively you can try to sound insulate your case or HHD's. Good luck!

  10. Epic...get a better distributor next time. on Unreal Tournament Not To Include Linux Executable · · Score: 2

If you need one at all. I like the idea of mailorder and CD vending machines in the retail space. GT, you people need to buy a clue. Anyone who can manage a linux system, get openGL and sound running, will not need much support from a company that burns CD's and puts them in expensive wastefull boxes.

  11. Ricochet & Linux, play well together. on The Internet Taxi That Couldn't Connect · · Score: 1

Ricochet is great if you live in Seattle, SF or DC. Some parts of NYC too I think. Works fine with Linux. There ARE problems however... Here in DC the service is almost unusable in several downtown areas. Apparently there are lots of users (like where I live) sharing the limited bandwidth of the relay trancievers. I'm lucky to get 10Kbaud at home. So test Ricochet out before you signup. Note that Ricochet has done nothing to resolve this problem for almost a year. They complain that they are restricted by the local utility co. They promise 28kb (modem like) performance....HA!! I smell class action.
